Have a Goliath Jr. III since 2000 (pre Fender) and will never sell it, sounds great with my old GK1001RB and GKmb500. Had a Son of Bertha too, but sold it after buying an Epifani T310 of EBay. Never regreted selling it...

Does this count? I owned a 750x too, but i sold it...

I hope so. 170 bucks for a pre-Fender SWR head based off of their original model? Hell to the yes. If only it were an SM-400...a boy can dream :).

I actually use my Studio 220 more than the SM400. It's smaller, lighter (fits great in a SKB xbox), and is enough power for most applications. The SM400 needs a bigger box for cooling but yea, it's sweet too. I picked up my SM for $263, the deals are out there, especially with all this class d crap coming out. Sorry, just don't trust technology until it has proved its self for a few years. Tried and True pre-Fender! I remember when Sunn was on top, and Fender took the tech they needed and left the brand die. I'm afraid their going to do the same with SWR. :bawl: OK I feel better now:rollno:

I wouldn't be surprised if Fender does that. When they do, I'm buying up all the SWR gear I can.

I just found this site and I'm an SWR user. In the late 90's I was using Hartke 7000's and they kept needing repairs so I bit the bullet and invested in an SM-900 (09/99 date mfg.) I got a Goliath III to go with it (12/99 mfg). Absolutely loved it I then bought a Goliath Senior (8/01 date) for larger venues. This rig has done everything and lasted. It's still my rig. Well, fast forward to now, and I decided I wanted a smaller rig for practice and jamming so I read the reviews on the 2008 Redhead and just bought it. I love it. I will post pics of my gear shortly. Love the forum. If you have a chance, could I please have a number? Thanks.

There may be a nice SM500 for sale in the classified section.

I saw someone practically giving it away for a steal of a price. Who would do such a silly thing?

Did the pre-amp tube swap give it a different tone? Mine's getting old and I'm starting to think of getting a new one. So far, no noise coming from it, but I want to beat the gun and get one on hand so I can swap it out when that day comes, so I'm shopping for which one I should get. I have a SM-500 too.

I didnt notice a huge difference in tone but to be fare I just cant find the tone I was looking for out of it no matter what. That that it sounds bad, it certainly doesnt, Just not what I was looking for,

Anybody in here pare a Goliath Jr with a Traid?

I have a traid now and am thinking of pairing it up with a goliath jr to push a little more air. I'd love to hear from other's experience before I pull the trigger on it. I've also considered selling the triad and pairing a goliath jr with a big ben. If you got experience with those two, please chime in.
