SX Pirate Bass???

I LOVE the look of this thing!! It doesn't look kiddy-oriented to me at all, in fact, I think it would make a pretty kick ass modern rock, punk bass?? I'd either have to replace the J pup cover with a red one or replace the P Pup cover with a black one, for consistency's sake. I LOVE the feel of a jazz bass, and I love the little red stains within the wood grain. I want one SOOOOO bad!! Does anyone have any experience with this??

Its a poor man's aerodyne my friend, and a lot uglier. Just my opinion one.

The bridge pickup looks rather close to the bridge, just like on a late-'70s Jazz Bass.
Just thought I'd point that out... it matters to a lot of people.

The skull cap alone is worth the price of admission!

I have heard, however, that if you play the bass without the skull cap, a proximity-based tone suck capacitor will engage, rendering your sound completely unbearable.

I think replacing the p-pickup cover with a black one and getting an all maple, block inlay neck from SX would make this one an visual knockout.

just a question, arent most squier jazz pickup close to the bridge as well? i have a squier standard jazz and it is.

Besides the red P-pickup I think the body looks kinda cool, but the neck would be gone or at least I' paint the binding on it.

I like the rear route body but I don't like the red binding, red p/u cover, and the red cross and bones.

I like the rear routed no pickguard body, and I think the Strat style jack is a nice touch.

Actually, the whole design is cool and has really good mod potential, I wonder why it's only offered in a pirate theme?

Seems like such a narrow market.

ITs not the red binding that gets me, its the really childish pirate inlay. That thing is so ugly. I could deal with the red pup cover, but that inlay is just too much..
