Dude, they are all Armenians, but born in different places.

Take me for example. I'm born in Beirut, and raised in Canada since I was a child. However, my blood is 100% Armenian. Just like them.

Armenians are just all over the place!

Easy trick to find out if one is of Armenian origine: If their family name ends with a "...ian", then they are as pure as an Armenian born in Armenia!

Yes, I think he writes the entire music. This doesn't mean Shavo doesn't add a few touches here and there. And, obviously, they are free to do whatever they want live. That is why I don't judge a bass player merely by his performance on record. He’s all stripped down and wide open on stage. If he’s good, he’ll come up with some neat stuff.

The bass in Aerials (or at least, I thought it was bass back then) was what got me playing bass in the first place.


I love System, but I must admit Shavo has the worst tone Ive ever heard live. His thunderbirds simply cant handle the drop C, it just sounds like fuzz.

Not sure why it sounds so good in studio, it blows live.

Meh, I hear that all the time, I tend to disagree. It's like Muse being a "Radiohead cover band", I tend to disagree. The thing about FNM is they were all over the place, they really touched upon just about every genre. SOAD tends to stay in their happy little nitch.


And Billy Gould is a helluvalot better than Shavo. :bassist:

Let me clarify, FNM circa King For a Day, Fool for a Lifetime. But FNM nonetheless.
