T.C.Electronic is dead to me. I now boycott them.

I concur with the two posts above me. You have a fairly wide base of potential customers to be found here, and if you would like us to believe that anything you sell is worth our money from this point forward, you will need to provide us (yes, in the public sense) with very clear answers to the situation detailed in the OP. No doubt you are already VERY well aware of the perils of neglecting your customer service department.

Yea you have a whole site of potential customers here who would most likely be willing to boycott on Bongo's word.

I somehow doubt the whole forum will stop buying TC stuff, just because one member had a bad experience, if that were the case, none of us would buy practically anything, becuase there's always members with problems with pretty much anything....

Whats the deal?
nobody's going to boycott anything, dude. boycotts never work. if people want to buy something, they'll buy it regardless. i'm having my own boycott of tc because of how crappy they handled the test pilot program, offering a lame free footswitch with purchase of an amp like it's some sort of a fantastic consolation prize. amount of people i got to boycott with me? 0.

The difference with other companies who continue to have loyal customers (even in customers who had a lemon before) is that they provide quick and clear answers to problems, and have a generally outstanding customer service/questions department. We are currently questioning the presence of the latter quality in TC.

And I think you'll agree that Bongo is not just some dude who came along and whined about a customer service issue. There are numerous people here who have purchased almost solely influenced by his reviews and opinions.

Heh, I know of plenty of companies, with severly bad CS, and people still buy their stuff all day long.

Plus, the word of one person on an internet forum has never ment conclusive truth to me before, as of today, that has not changed.

I will not contest Bongomanias contributions to these boards, nor will I deny that he is an authority to whom there are few of the like. But I will label the above statement as being extremely ignorant.

If the majority of the FX forum would be willing to boycut TC just because Bongo has had bad experiences with them, I would have misjudged the collective IQ of all TB users.

Hopefully no one will pass judgment on a certain company based on a single persons negative experience. Ever.

Hey, I'm on board with Bongo and Jimmy. Not just because I want to copy the cool kids but also because I've heard enough tales of glitches, shut downs, bad customer service etc. Also, aside from the RH amps a lot of their stuff has a reputation for not working especially well with bass. Seems like a good company to stay away from.

I very much doubt "almost solely" on his opinoin, or else a lot of us would have suprisingly slimilar setups to his.

When a company proves itself to treat customers like whale droppings repeatedly, something like this happens. There are 167 (at this time and date) people who will never buy from that company again, or at the very least until they come forward with a damn good explanation of their behavior. That is a considerable number of potential customers to have lost to a company that small.

Of course they do. What I'm saying is that when a gaping neglect in a company's CS is made publicly aware to a forum of potential buyers, one of two things occurs with the people who read it: 1) they wonder "Am I going to have the patience to go through this BS if I ever have to work out an issue with one of their products?" and then they refrain from buying anything made by said company. 2) They ignore the post and go make a purchase, and the company hopes that the customer never has an issue with the product that they need resolved. I, for one, fall in the category of the former if such a gap were to remain open, and I'm sure others sympathize.

I'm in neither group, I'll wait for more than one isolated incident, before damning a whole company.

Which raises the question, if your stuff is usable, tank-like, and cheap, do you need customer service? :ninja:

Any situation where a customer is involved needs customer service. Even if you're just selling me table salt, there better at least be a way to get in touch with the company, even if there's not a whole department waiting to handle my call.

With regard to the pedal, I hope that Uffe is able to help Bongo. A potential boycott is not at stake here, but this is an important demonstration of TCE's commitment to helping customers get the information they need. Since Bongo's had two pedals working the same way, it sounds like he doesn't have defective pedals, but rather is disappointed with their design. That's all fine, and TCE doesn't owe anyone an apology if everything's working as they intended it. But since Bongo's just looking for an explanation of their design, it shouldn't require a public outcry to get some level of tech support to respond to him. Either this Eric guy is piss-poor at his job, or he's done everything he knows to do and the information just isn't available to him. In either case, TCE needs to take some corrective action.
