When I was a kid I had a Larry Sherry autographed model glove. My parents got it for me with S&H Green Stamps.Kid gloves should be the order of the day for new members though. Until they get "our brand of humor" it would be easy to take it the wrong way when we go after them.
No comment. What's the best cat for metal fans?
How do I adjust the saddles on my cat? ("Why the cat is wearing a saddle, I'll never know....")
What kind of strings are best for tying up my cat?
My friend has a cat for sale and says it's a purebred. How much should I pay?
How do I take my cat on an airplane?

Do you remember your history lessons on the Holocaust?Wait, we're supposed to beat our kids, and then turn them into gloves?![]()

Sheesh, you were a tough parent.![]()

If some new bass player, or 50 year veteran bass player who just happened upon our community, asks what you think is a "stupid question" take a breath. Swallow your intense desire to berate someone and walk away.
We were all new once. We all had to find our way around here. We all had to learn about the search function.
Not everyone comes here knowing there's no "best bass for metal" or that underpowering cabs is a myth. The proper way to fire a drummer is something that takes years to perfect.
But they all come here with one thing in common. They are EXCITED about playing bass and discussing it with other bass players.
Don't be the jerkweasle that messes that up. Don't run somebody away from here just so you can get a jab in.
Go kick your cat or beat your kids if you need an outlet for your frustration. But don't bring that crap in here!
Once someone has been around the block a few times with this crowd, he/she knows all of our inside jokes and one liners about certain questions. But a new member might not understand that we're just having a little fun around a question that has been a bit of a sore subject.
Either help or go away. But don't be the TalkBass playground bully. It doesn't make you cool. It just makes you a jack@$$.
Edit: I am a sarcastic guy. I didn't literally mean "bully". It's not THAT serious. But the point is sometimes new guys don't know we're just being goofballs. So tread lightly.
(The part about beating your kids was, of course, a joke. Cat kicking, however, can be fun for the whole family if you do it right.)
I haven't heard jerkweasel in a while. For crap sake, guys. Lighten up on new members, will ya?

the search function requires a minimum of three letters, typing in 'SX' did nothing.
Cat fishing, I think.I have short term memory issues.
Tell me again, are we talking about music or fishing?
Jerkweasal is fun to say.
Good work. Well done.I still am a tough parent! They aren't but 6 and 9. I have YEARS left to beat them!
