TalkBass App To Be REMOVED/DELETED [security concerns]

Sluggish and frustrating on my Droid Maxx. 4G or Wifi. Chrome with 'reduce data usage' function enabled(no real difference either way). 15 seconds to fully load a page.

I ran some tests.
Firefox is the slowest, but not by much. Chrome is slightly faster.

By slow: on clicking a link, Firefox takes 2-3 seconds to load the page. Chrome 2ish (maybe slightly less).

Forum fiend is the fastest by far. Pages load instantaneously.

So I started digging into the differences. There is one obvious one. It's all the ads you guys have on here. They are dumping the performance of the Web page on mobile devices. My S4 is no slouch. Forum fiend doesn't display the ads.

I doubt you'll remove the ads, but at least I understand now.

A tiny 320x50 banner at the top, and a 320x50 banner at the bottom is causing major slowdowns?

Can anyone with slow android devices do a ping or traceroute speed test to static.talkbass.com ?

An app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ua.com.streamsoft.pingtools&hl=en would suffice I think.

yes.. i thought of that right away as i assumed it would be the fastest for android, but firefox beats it on my phone.
while my phone isnt the newest, im SURE this is not just a problem with my phone and is more a compatability with android issue as many others point out that Iphone works great, android not so much.

I was using a data usage saving app...it definitely slowed my browsing. Some of these actually route your requests through a proxy server. I dumped the data saving app...it just didn't save enough data to make it worthwhile.

I just reloaded this page several times-took almost exactly10 seconds each time, data saving on or off makes no difference for me.

Total 49ms. Pretty quick getting TO the site, slow rendering it.

Great! Now, can you guys do the same thing, but with static.talkbass.com instead of talkbass.com? All javascript and images are served from static.talkbass.com.

For what it's worth. Taptalk has been spamming the crap out of me. Begging me to come back LOOOOOL
I used it to access some other forums on occasion and had changed phones just before Paul made his announcement. I had read about the security issues the previous day.

You know, looking at it now it's really only a couple of seconds slower than full-blown PC browser when on a good WiFi connection. It's when on 4G or GSM like I'm on now in Amsterdam where it really bogs down. Let me run test again on GSM.

I'm sitting next to my wifi and it's been 2 minutes and static.talkbass.com still won't load.
I'm on an older 3g LG Google phone.
The talkbass.com isn't much better. I've just resigned that I can't really read talkbass anymore unless I'm home in front of my PC.
