TalkBass App To Be REMOVED/DELETED [security concerns]

I'm all behind the admins on this. It's stupid amazing what the low-life scumbag hackers can get by harvesting email addresses and just very basic information.

Screw Tapatalk. I was using it, but it's outta here. This isn't the first site I've seen get hip to what a nightmare they have become. It certainly won't be the last. Good riddance.

The Net has become the hacker's playground.

Wonderful news, got this damn I phone, don't remember seeing " tap talk " app, remember searching for a talk bass app, as I floated around here a lot on my laptop, since I got that app I haven't really known what the hell to do here or how to navigate it, plus, reading thru some of the posts on my laptop browser , a lot of folks are on some holier than thou trips, kinda turned me off from the place, now that this app is gone I'll come around more, don't bother, I won't see the flame:-)

I was outraged at first because I loved the App, but after checking out the actual site on my phone....it ain't bad. It's better than it was previous to the forum upgrade, that was terri-bad. The only thing I'm missing is the notifications, but I usually end up ignoring notifications anyhow so :p

Flows very well. I dig. Thank you for sticking up for our privacy, even if it puts you out of sorts with a few people :)

I'll be on TalkBass regardless. We can always form a Facebook group or something like that. I will miss the app; I use it because it's so convienient and it helped me purchase a lot of parts for my basses that I was unable to explain on my own.

IDK about everyone else, but I'm with you, admins, 100%.

My only issues were that it was slow in giving me notifications about subscribed threads; I expected instant notifications.

Another issue was that I want to be able to see the Alerts on the app as I do on the browser. Oh well. At least I could see all the participated but not subscribed threads I have on the app.

Just uninstalled the app because I tried to access it and it said "No longer available on Tapatalk".

It's been a blast, TalkBass app, but I guess it'll teach me to stop checking for updates on the forums on my phone and not be so anti-social.

I always check my notifs at home anyways.

Love the browser though.

at least on my larger screen iphone 6+ I find working with the browser version a lot more powerful than using the app...

Not really going to miss it.

Thanks for keeping us and our data as secure as you can

The end of certain apps is the way internet works, all companies and sites stop using certain apps etc. The difference here is that the IT department let's you know about it, and even responds to questions and comments.

Thank you.

I understand that some people may be very disappointed to lose the app, but really, I don't see how anyone would keep using it after reading that first post. The people behind the app sound like a bunch of cowboys that you'd never want anywhere near your data.

Is there a way to mark a form read from the mobile web browser? I'm sure it's simple and staring me in the face but for the life of me I can't find it. LOL Thanks!

EDIT: There are three dots next to "new posts" near the top. Touching that will give you the option to mark the current folder read, or the whole site read. I knew I'd find it.

Personally I like tapatalk, but I think this will be ok once everyone gets used to it. Just my .02.
