"I Did A Search But..."

Suddenly 5 of the first 10 people to respond each have twelve different links to said topic.

Really? So your the one person that can't find google on the internet?

To be fair, some topics are extremely difficult or impossible to search for because of the way search engines work. If the search involves common words or part of an extremely common phrase, you will get a bunch of results not related to your search. The only reason the other posters know the link is because they remember reading about it in the past.

For example, there is a new brand of basses available at GC, Mitchell Bass. When I search for info on them, I get results about bass players named Mitchell, bass fishermen named Mitchell, and people literally named Mitchell Bass.

First bass, what do you think of this:

'63 Fender on ebay for $5000 with tonewood and white pickguard, shipping from chinese pawn shop. It's assembled in America so I know all the parts will be perfect or I'll chew the crap out of the CS guy until I get a manager. I have a 4ohm rumble 2x10 and an 8ohm 15" which I plan on using with my hybrid guitar amp rated at 100W peak @ 8ohm max, parallel the cabs right? Will I be able to get Justin Chandlers tone with flats on E and A and round Cobalts on D and G through a behringer pitch shifter that came without a box? Never played bass before but the band I'm trying to get into says play it like the studio version and I cant read tabs so should I play in drop D all the time or scrap the Fender for a boutique 5 and carry a capo? Its all todays music and we havn't landed any gigs so I've got time to make up my mind. Perhaps Ill just mod the Fender by adding a string and adding a neck extension for the 24th fret. With this bass can I think I can fire the drummer after he loses his GF to the guitarist.

Please answer my question directly so we don't get off topic.

True. I knew this response would come up, but I was referring more to those who obviously did nothing remotely close to a search in regards to a relatively common, non-subjective topic. They are either lazy or trolling.

(Also I corrected the horrible grammatical error in my original post. Ha.)

I was reminded today of the need for this thread. I've started collating topics/answers, and will post a list at the bottom of the original post once I've made a reasonable amount of progress.

In the meantime, keep 'em coming. They don't necessarily have to be threads you hate. A lot of threads have been beaten to death, but they still interest me. Some days I'm more easily bored than others.

The OP has been updated with a table of all TNS entries posted so far. Or most of them. I might have missed a few.

The numbers were generally assigned in on a first-come / first-served basis, with a few exceptions for special requests such as #665 for Mothman. The entries have been attributed by post #, but not yet by username.
