TalkBass original artists Spotify playlist created.

Here's the latest original song from a side project of mine. Totally different flavor from Kings Level 1. Our latest single called, Beers at the Beach. Let's just hope that we can have some of that this year!!

Sounds great, I like it a lot.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take for Spotify to process it? I feel like I've been waiting ages for my two most recent submissions to complete...

Thank you.

I use distro kid for all my digital releases. I set it up the first week of May and they told me that I should make the release one month out. I only did three weeks. It was available on Spotify on my release date but Apple Music and iTunes took an extra day or two beyond my release date. Don't know why it takes them so long.

Spotify finally came through! Two more to add to the list! First up is a track that we were on the verge of finishing when self-isolation started in earnest:

The second, is the first track of a potential series that we recorded during self-isolation. We originally did it just for one of those COVID style music videos, but we thought that the track came out well enough to throw it up on Spotify as well:

And just in case anybody is interested, the original video in question ;)

Good stuff as always @Kro thanks for sharing. It's been added to the playlist.

Only time I've done albums is if all the material was already written, start to finish. I personally enjoy the album format, but I get that I'm a dinosaur.

To your point, I like albums when they're put together thoughtfully and with purpose. But if an album is going to just wind up being a collection of distinct songs without a planned beginning middle and end - might as well just release the tracks as singles.

I've done the album thing, probably mostly just to say we did it. It was tough, and it was one of those things where we wrote like double the content needed and then curated it back - a big effort.

I don't see myself personally going down that path any time soon, unless at some point if we decide to assemble a compilation of existing tracks in retrospect.

My exact thoughts as well.

After reading a post discussing if more people were in cover bands or original bands, I thought it would be a great idea to create a Spotify public playlist consisting of members original projects.

All genres welcome. Please post the name of the project, a link for preferred social media and a link to your Spotify presence. I will add your music to the playlist. The playlist can be found here:

I'll start, my original band is called Kings Level 1.
