Is there a cure, antidote, antivenom or whatever for when a bassist gets bit by the P bass tone bug?
Yes - but the antivenom isn't free and often ends up being sold for another antidote.
What's the worst case of GAS you've ever acted on?
Selling all my gear to fund the purchase of my current bass, a Spector NS5CR.

Hm. I had to think on that one (I've acted on plenty
). A fretless G&L SB-1. I came dangerously close to buying this when I sold my American Standard Precision last summer. Unfortunately, responsibility came a-knockin' and I instead paid off a credit card.

I have not played a Ric, ever. Not even in a store.
How big was the biggest rig you've ever played thru? FOH systems not included, you're own amp or back line.

Hm, I'd say it was a Johnson P clone and this cheap RMS bass amp. Total crap. I was a noob.

Damn. Serious Ampeg artillery there. Meteorologists might mistakenly site "thunder storms in the area".
My worst rig was my first, a '73 Fender P and a 200w "rolled and pleated" Kustom amp and cab. All were junk in 1977 when I got them used. Love my Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2 and Uber 210, now, with my Lakland 5 string jazz.
