TalkBass Upgrade July 2nd 1:30am

One definite regression in functionality and/or interface: watched threads with unread comments are now commingled with watched threads with all read comments (instead of being on their own separate page), and the former are distinguished only by a very small red dot.

Everything looks and works WORSE. Is going back to the old look an option at all??

My favourite new feature is the upvote. Hopefully it'll help surface the good info and all the typical thread derail and personal opinion crap will get pushed down and out of sight

The "negativity" is based on more than a decade of using this beautiful resource / website. I LOVE Talkbass and everything it provides, but this upgrade, for the lack of a better term, is absolute dogs**t, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I'm not seeing the thumbnail picture on the listings. I don't like how you have to click on the thread to see what it is that is being listed. Also, I'm only seeing threads from yesterday.

I've been on this site for 20 years...20 YEARS!!!! The changes made are enough to make me stop coming here and dropping my paid monthly subscription. It's pretty clearly stated by most TalkBass members above that this is NOT WHAT WE WANT. We pay for it. Maybe it's time to hop off and pay elsewhere.

(1) Previously, when someone is on your ignore list, their posts vanished. Now if there are two fools arguing with each other, each post is a screen of "you are ignoring" to scroll past. This was something that made this forum more pleasurable than other forums, the ability to make the rubbish invisible.

(2) "up voting" - is this a forum or a Reddit copy? There's a reason I come here and not to Reddit.

Lot of work to do tidying away the free junk that came with the new software - beware of unintended consequences

I've been spending less time here lately just due to life being busy. With this new hideous, clunky layout I can see me not coming back much at all. The old site was sleek and smooth in comparison. This new version looks like hot garbage.

Edit: I just got an "achievement" for posting this. Are we really dumbing down talkbass this much? So, so lame.

I do agree; the whole "Achievements" thing I can do without. Is there a way to turn that off? I didn't see it in my settings.

Ok, the makeover was to make TalkBass better? It failed. They had "no choice" to convert it to this particular horrible new design / engine?? What are you saying?
Being mad about it makes perfect sense.
I'm pro TalkBass, I'm anti user-unfriendly interface. Whoever was in charge of this upgrade made some horrible choices.
