Talked to Eden Tech about the E300T

and the fine products they make. Their customer service is second to none in the industry. And they treat their workers fairly and squarely; they ensure that each of the handicapped children making those amps in the unheated factory in northern China, whose families are being held hostage by the corporation, are only chained to the table 18 hours a day so they can at least still attend school; that is, those old enough to go.

:hiding:

What makes you think I've got anything against Eden?

Cheers,
Cameron

Jazz3625tonic, I never meant you were flamin' Eden. I apologize to you. The first few posters that answered you usually are and it's getting wearisome. They had a bad experience with Eden in the past and can't seem to move on.
What I'm saying is anyone that's played a few years has probably experienced some type of problem that's equipment related. Years back, mine was with Ampeg. They would not take care of the problem even though it was still under warranty. I solved the problem by going to a GK 800 head. I moved on! Just a simple, no-flame answer, not like you see above.

Agreed, but I see the real problem as being that you can essentially buy the same amp under a different brand for significantly less than under the EDEN name.
:rollno:

:eyebrow:

Which brand is sold in the US that can be had for the just over $1100 (with tax) that I could buy the Eden for??

It may be a rebadged amp, but they have kept the price point quite low on it.

Don't know about US, but in Europe EDEN E300T 1249€ (srp 1449$) and Fame BVH300 629€ (srp 932€).
Same place obviously, doesn't take too much guessing what that place is ;).

That's a bit steep, methinks?
Or is the difference the price of the Speakon connector?

And as any person who has worked with tube amps can tell, the EDEN way cooks the caps and drops the tubes.

Regards
Sam

No worries man! It's all good. I pick up a Ampeg V4BH today off of Craigslist in Austin this morning. It will do fine until I pick up a 300 Watt head (8 & 4 ohms). And I'm still thinking the Eden E300T. I'm sure it's a great head rebadged or not...made over there or not. Just need to hear some more input. Later!!

Appear's the Hiwatt B300 is also a brother clone to this unit. I'm thinkin' I want the Hiwatt, just for the coolness of owning one. Wish I was rich and could buy a real Hiwatt stack. I might just do that after the recession kicks my ass.

You got that one, congrats man. Good shape? Like it?

It's in great shape... a few little rips in the tolex but nothing more than that. The clearish coating on the transformers looks brand new and it's super clean. The only other thing is someone had taken off the "V-4BH" logo on the right side face of the amp. But I am a happy camper! :hyper:

you are making assumptions.. and that makes you sound silly.
:rollno::D
If i wanted to flame i would do it in a way that would make your head spin around. It is nowhere close to a flame.....
Any comment that i myself made,..since i cant speak for others.... were backed up by so much detail, documentation, email and telephone conversations taped phone recordings:eek: and were never just a drive by shooting..

And if you ever took the time to actually read that one post you would see ONE big consistency throughout... And that consistency was that I always liked the sound of the Eden amps..
I challenge you to find something to the contrary .

So i wouldn't start assuming anything.
All companies have their percentage of failures of shipped products...
Its how they handle that problem, Professionally with courtesy to the paying customer or with the other way.. They way they(eden) did it..... which is spelled out on TB if you search ........and i don't think this thread needs to go through that.. But i will stop you from making assumptions that have no base on fact.
I simply think this will be interesting to see if things have changed... Im in for the ride.. And not to sit here and say I Told Ya So.. oops i said it... (may the jury disregard that comment):)

Moving on .. mmmm .......yup did that too.... but you prefer to want to explain an Ampeg issue again:confused:.... mmmm

I dont have time to argue with you.. I just want to see what the conclusion of the Eden issue RE this thread will be

I had an eden wt 800. Bought it in early 96. Flew out of my open door truck. Came back to get it after I noticed it was gone and found it flatter than a Pancake. I still miss that amp. That was in 2006. But......... I had musical instrument insurance which if you have equipment you should get it. My first replacement was a very wrong decision. Sold it and got the Thunderfunk 550B. The reason I did not get another eden cause my friend was having problems with his and seeing others on TB I stayed away. Love the power and sound of it though. When they fired the owners and designers, or they left the company, it doesn't look good. Why? Because there was a time where making the product meant something. When any developer of a product starts out making it, there is a passion to make a great product. Sure the money will be good if it takes off, but its the making of a product you feel great about and that makes you move on. Fodera, Sadowsky, Alleva Copollo, NY Bass, dame others things like the phone, computer etc. all these great developers wanted a great product first. When they leave the company for one reason or another the people who did nothing but came in as a buisness deal or employed into the company to make money look at it as just that. TO MAKE MONEY. Money is Priority. Hey Im not saying this is wrong at all. I am not against making money. But if you lose touch of "making it better" you settle for profits of what it already is. You may chip this and that off the amp to cut cost. You may find other companies to slap your name on there products like some of there newer china made amps, or what ever to make profits increase.
What I have seen Eden do in the past 5 years does not convince me to buy another amp which I really liked alot to begin with. There is enough TB users of eden who discussed these problems. Which is great, because now the customer has a very large voice. On the other hand life is based on "pleasure and pain". For the new eden it is painful to develope a better product, with all the cost, the time, energy, investments, etc etc. Pleasure comes with means to receive profits. On the other end, originally pleasure came with the development of it. You looked at making money but you don't dream about being rich. You develope a great product that you believe in. You want it to sound good. You want it to be one if not the best product out there. Stupid move to fire Nordschow.

Why shouldn't they be allowed to give it to Eden? You pay your hard-earned money for something (in some cases, a LOT of hard earned money) and you have insurmountable trouble with it and the company's unresponsive, I say take aim and fire. Eden has done itself no favors since Washburn bought it, either. And as much as I like Ampeg, I'd say the same to you, since Loud is doing much the same thing (although their CS seems to be operating at a higher level).

BTW...flaming? That's so early 90's BBS ;)

I have posted this in the other thread relating to this topic, but I felt I should duplicate it here as well.

According to Land Baldwin, the preamp voicing/design in the E300T is unique.

So if this is indeed true, and you want the Eden sound in a tube head (for ~$1000 street), then the E300T would be a good choice IMO. Can't wait for one to show up in my neck of the woods so I can try it out.

Cheers,

Damn!! I thought maybe there was going to be a cheaper Hiwatt. Oh well. Looks like I'll be buying an Eden then.
There's always the Hi-Gain series, that comes in 50 and 100 Watt versions. The clean channel is supposed to be identical to the one in the more expensive heads, and hence, they could possibly work well with bass guitar - even though they're not all that powerful. I'm thinking of trying one with my Bass VI myself.

I was originally along for the ride but now i have become engaged.

Anything that Lane Baldwin says should be taken with a grain of salt... And im saying it as nice as i can without getting into a slug fest.

I would require some proof from Lane, or a direct Circuit comparison of some sort if you are going to put out the extra cha-ching for the Eden badge.

Maybe things have changed, but in the past Lane has not exactly been on the up an up with explanations RE: the US Music Corp. And I am being kind by saying it that way. Just a heads up, Im watching out for my TB brothers and sisters here. I have been in the trenches more than many can imagine.
I just hate to see someone spend extra Money on a rebadged amp that may be an exact replica of another brand as others have mentioned above.

Quite possibly also named: Quagmire Big Boomer or Kelvinator Bassinator 500. Seriously I do have an issue with a primo manufacturer rebadging any design, even if its their secondary or tertiary product line. With a lot of manufacturers heading overseas, at least have the contract assembly companies make your designed products. But when it comes to the USA with 26 ga steel, metric bolts, 12" tires and a 667cc diesel engine painted with LEAD PAINT and a roller with your sticker stuck crosswise on the front panel; something needs to be done.
