Talked to Eden Tech about the E300T

Glad it's been all positive with you Jimmy.
Thats cool!

Still not sure why he doesn't come to the largest bass guitar forum on the web more often though?????
I think I know why ;) (nudge nudge wink wink)

Again, let me add that other than getting the manual, I have had no official dealings with him. My opinion of him is strictly due to occasional chats on AGB.

There we go, lets get this thread back on track. Anyone actually own the Eden E300T?

That is very generic wiring.. and looks like much less expensive and not the thicker epoxy resin PC boards.... That is the FAME amp???
I opened my old eden and the wiring though not as nice as Aguilar was much nicer than the wiring in these photos...
Aguilar wiring looks closer to mil spec with tie downs every inch or so and bundled together with neat bends.
The inside of that amp FAME is like the inside of a a generic commercial grade dvd player... Somewhat of a mess...

I wonder if the Eden badged amp is cleaner and bundled with proper strain relief..
I forgot specs. But when i was younger i worked in the aviation field in electrical engineering and stayed to Mil spec... Mil Spec is an art!!! and NASA spec is even more of an art... the most beautiful wiring job that a human eye could see... I dont expect that in commercial grade consumer equipment though... Aguliar looks 50% as close to mil spec but the fam e amp appears to me to be lower grade commercial...
But if eden is going to require a premium price for its badge i would expect much cleaner wiring harnessing, routing and tir downs...

Thanks for the phots.. very interesting.

Hi.

Here's the Fame again:

I PM'd (no e-mail possibility :() MARKIN about the Eden pics, but if any of you Eden owners wish to post Yours too, I'd believe that to be a quicker route.

Regards
Sam

Wow. One image away from solving the mystery. Thanks for the interior pics Pantsman and T-Bird.

C'mon, someone out there has to have a E300T, a screwdriver and a digital camera... :hyper:

Cheers,

Hi.

I think the biggest issue is the pricing difference in different countries for this amp. I paid AU$1000 for this amp brand new which is only $300 more than the new Behringer BVT5500, I can't believe more Aussie's haven't bought one of these!!

Yes, I agree. In germany the BVH300=629€ and the BVT5500=319€. On the other hand Eden E300T=1249€ as I posted already in this thread or the other one.

On the Fame (Fane?), is that just an illuminated logo panel at the upper left?

Yep, Fame, that's a house brand for MusicStore.de. Some of the guitars and basses seems to be hand made in Germany, but the amps are most likely all from the same Chinese manufacturer.

The Fame logo is similar backlit carved plexi as in several other amps. This one glows blue, which I personally think is rather lame. I usually play facing the other way so it really doesn't bother me that much ;).

Regards
Sam

The guitars and basses are made in Poland, and the amps are sourced from at least 3 manufactturers:
- the most expensive guitar tube amps are made in Poland
- some of the cheaper tube guitar amps are made in Russia ( yerasov)
- the transistor bass and guitar amps and the tube bass amp are made by smarvo in China

Photos! Then, if the Eden looks the same as the Fame and Ashton, the next question would be to ask if USMusic licensed the design---or are the Chinese simply copying it?
Or, since the Fame and Ashton amps have been around much longer than the Eden, if Eden had anything at all to do with the design of the amp. My guess is that it's simply an OEM amp, with an Eden badge on it.

Lane Baldwin from Eden disputes the rebadging theory in this thread from the Eden forum.

I can't imagine how or why he could not be telling the truth in this matter. Someone will eventually post a picture of the interior of the Eden and if it turns out to be the same design as the Ashton and Fame, Eden's credibility would be toast.

Cheers,
Duff2

You're right. It's probably a safer bet to trust the words of someone who was actually part of the design process, over rumours at an Internet forum. :)

He may be splitting hairs. Changing a tone stack's corner frequency (the EQ) is as simple are changing a couple of cap and resistor values. If Eden took the generic Smarvo design and re-voiced the preamp, he would be technically correct, but more than a little disingenuous. Eden does not have any other experience in tube poweramp design and if they actually built this amp from the ground up, you'd figure THAT would be what would be being trumpeted, not some 'mid frequency design.'
