Talked to Eden Tech about the E300T

Why shouldn't they be allowed to give it to Eden? You pay your hard-earned money for something (in some cases, a LOT of hard earned money) and you have insurmountable trouble with it and the company's unresponsive, I say take aim and fire. Eden has done itself no favors since Washburn bought it, either. And as much as I like Ampeg, I'd say the same to you, since Loud is doing much the same thing (although their CS seems to be operating at a higher level).

BTW...flaming? That's so early 90's BBS ;)

It's one thing to voice an angry opinion when it's relevant to the topic. It's another to derail every single thread that has anything to do with Eden with the same annoying rant. It gets old really fast and inhibits everyone's ability to have a discussion about something.

I'm not saying that was done here, because it hasn't. But, it happens 85% of the time, and I think that is what he is referring to.

I was originally along for the ride but now i have become engaged.

Anything that Lane Baldwin says should be taken with a grain of salt... And im saying it as nice as i can without getting into a slug fest.

I would require some proof from Lane, or a direct Circuit comparison of some sort if you are going to put out the extra cha-ching for the Eden badge.

Maybe things have changed, but in the past Lane has not exactly been on the up an up with explanations RE: the US Music Corp. And I am being kind by saying it that way. Just a heads up, Im watching out for my TB brothers and sisters here. I have been in the trenches more than many can imagine.

And I'm with you all the way, my brother. But say what you really feel, man, this is the place to do it; Lane is completely full of it and will say absolutely anything to save himself. Including deleting posts and attempting to change history to make pissed-off customers look bad and hopefully just go away quietly. It didn't work.

That's why I'm mad; not just because I had a faulty amp. If they had been nice about it, fessed up that they messed up and fixed the thing, no problem. It was the lies and the year long delays that really upset me, and trying to make me look like a liar for buying one of their faulty $2,000.00 Amps.

I rented a PA from Long & McQuade once that failed on us on the road, literally 1,000 miles away. It was Saturday afternoon. They had a new PA up to us in time for the gig Saturday night, let us keep both for the remainder of the gig, and when we got back, no charge, and they gave us a credit towards our next rental. My first MTD 635-24 had a faulty pickup that failed completely in the first week. I've used Bartolini's since the late 70's and never heard of this. Phoned Mr Tobias, who fell over himself apologizing, couriered the new pickup out immediately overnight without waiting for me to return anything (I could have been lying), and offered to pay for installation (I just did it myself). I once phoned Trace Elliot in England back in the days when I had an endorsement and asked if there was any way I could balance the effects loop - they sent me a complete new custom motherboard with a trs balanced effects loop in two weeks free. Didn't even charge me for shipping, and my amp was four years old at the time.

That's customer service.

What Eden did to me, and SVT, and a myriad of others; that's wrong, and they deserve the bashing they get here for as long as they stay in business. Recently, they (Eden) did phone me and apologize, 2.5 years after the fact, but I think its more a case of them trying to recover lost market share after seeing the damage this place can do to such a deserving company.

Let's fight! fight! fight! and stick it to the MAN!

In the meantime, we'll bitch and moan as much as we like - don't like it? Don't read it. We are trying to warn people. We'll stop when THEY stop.

Cheers,
Cameron

Quite possibly also named: Quagmire Big Boomer or Kelvinator Bassinator 500. Seriously I do have an issue with a primo manufacturer rebadging any design, even if its their secondary or tertiary product line. With a lot of manufacturers heading overseas, at least have the contract assembly companies make your designed products. But when it comes to the USA with 26 ga steel, metric bolts, 12" tires and a 667cc diesel engine painted with LEAD PAINT and a roller with your sticker stuck crosswise on the front panel; something needs to be done. BOB

+1

I am starting to have a problem with that also. One of the reasons I bought a Thunderfunk.

True, but in this case, if Eden is just rebadging the amp without changing it but is saying that it's different and is charging more than the others, it goes back to the same old Eden problems that have been going on with misinformation.

and the fine products they make. Their customer service is second to none in the industry. And they treat their workers fairly and squarely; they ensure that each of the handicapped children making those amps in the unheated factory in northern China, whose families are being held hostage by the corporation, are only chained to the table 18 hours a day so they can at least still attend school; that is, those old enough to go.

:hiding:

What makes you think I've got anything against Eden?

Cheers,
Cameron

i hate when people act like this over 3rd world countries using child labor. it's the norm over there. it was the same in england and the u.s. back in the day. it's called advancement. i'd rather see kids building amps for 18 hours a day instead of being prostitutes or even worse, dying cold and hungry in the streets. you bleeding heart liberals piss me off.

As a proud owner of an Ashton BVT300 I feel I can rightfully tell you all to quit yer bitchin'. Great amp this one no matter whose badge is on it, phat tooby tone, simple and so far very reliable.

I just wish the Ashton had a speakon like the Eden gets

And to all the aussie TB'ers, why haven't you guys got one!!! its a AU$1000 all tube amp!!

Edit: I didn't bother reading the whole thread because I really don't care who made it or where, but if you want photo's of the boards I can do that this afternoon after i finish work

C'mon, tell us what you really think..!

Are you really that out of touch with reality! You must not have any kids... Maybe you are a kid, as no self respecting adult would have such an ignorant view on life matters like that...

Sorry for the rant, I'm done...

as far as that goes? come on, consider the alternative. one situation can be really bad, but the alternative can always be worse. you can say i'm out of touch with reality, i can only think that maybe you haven't considered what the child labors other options are.

i'd love to see the pics of the inside of the ashton. i've been a longtime eden fan, and have seen this amp, although i don't like the sound of tubes for my sound, i do like others that use tubes, so my curiosity has been piqued over all this mention of eden outsourcing. now if we could get some images of the insides of the eden....

Hey kids:

I'd hate to have to lock down a thread that might be of use to someone.
Please: remember rule #1 and interact respectfully with each other.
No need for language to make your point.

Play nice please. You want to disagree, fine. You want to name call, or play politics, take it elsewhere.

Personally, I will never try the Eden tube amp. It's an answer to a question that I am not asking of my bass amp. It's not about Eden. It's about being happy with solid state and hybrid tech.

The manufacturing and branding concerns are nonissues to me. Try the item. If you need it, buy it. If not, move on.

According to Land Baldwin, the preamp voicing/design in the E300T is unique.

:hmm:
According to Lane huh??!?

Yeah.........I second that.....

I would require some proof from Lane,
Man, you almost made me spit Pespi out my nose with that one!!!!

This is how I see it.
When I first heard about the amp, I was like- YEAH!!!!!!!!! Maybe an inexpensive version of the Eden/Koch amp!
Then I contacted my other buddies who are still in good standing with Eden and asked about it.
Said it was cool.

SO!!!!!
If you like it.
Who cares?!?!??!!!
Buy two!

I'll suck up an $8.00 tube fix on a new amp myself before I'd pick up the phone to anyone at Eden now.
Waste of time IMO. One of the reasons I left Eden.
I was an endorsee at one point.
Called to get an issue taken care of when I was on the road.
On the road. Tour. With a well know artist.
Basically told I was on my own.
Used the backline company's Ampeg rig from there out.

When David was still "the guy", things got done.
US Music came in, it got bad.

But, I'm still a HUGE fan of their gear.
Just not how they treated me.

I'm still waiting to try this amp out though. Seems exciting anyway!

And Lane.......yeah, that guy.........he's a character huh?!??!?;)

Personally I like Lane. He's on alt.guitar.bass a lot, and I can't say anything bad about the guy. When I owned a disco'ed Nemesis combo for a month last year (hated to sell it but a week after I bought it I bought a Markbass combo), he immediately sent me a link to its manual. However, that is the extent of official contact I've had. Most of the rest of the contact I've had has been very general.

I don't begrudge him for being a company man, and I seriously doubt if he's personally responsible for the CS policy and/or commentary about their amps. But I can understand the frustration some of the things he's done has caused some of you. I'd like to think if he ran the company, the issues you all would have had with him would be non-existent. I just see him as a guy doing a job that's not easy for bosses that aren't easy to deal with.

Glad it's been all positive with you Jimmy.
Thats cool!

Still not sure why he doesn't come to the largest bass guitar forum on the web more often though?????

You would think he would pop on in here and give us some insight to the amp.
