My DiMarzio cables have never tangled. They come in a variety of colors, too.

I have always said that if I fall out of an airplane, I don't want a parachute. I want a bunch of instrument and mic cables - I would get tangled up before I reach the ground.

The only solution (lol) that I have found is wrapping them with the "over and under" method each and every time I wrap or rewrap them. That is not perfect, either, but they don't coil up nearly as much.

The Lava Cable Retro Cable and Super Cable have been awesome for me, both coiled. The Retro is shorter at 20', while the Super Cable stretches 35'. Lots of colors, but a bit pricey. I've had one of each for over 5 years now, and have never had any issues either. I dig 'em.

I put TechFlex on all the cables I make and that seems to help. Also, I think the over/under method on short lengths of cable like a 20' instrument cable ends up in more tangles than just coiling it the plain old way. Do the plain coiling way of wrapping the cable and try to keep the ends of the cable with little flopping out when you wrap it with a velcro wrap of some sort.

Coily. I have had Bullet Coily Cable for over 15 years, and it's the only guitar cable that's literally just take out and plug in. I bought some quality Cordial cables and they tangle too. Yes, coily has a sound, it's not transparent.
