Tapewound Rogue 2.jpg Here's mine; Rogue VB-100 with Rotosound 88m's on it (65-115). Probably a little heavy, but the sound is awesome. May I have a number please? :)

Not sure what brand they are but I have tapewoundss on my Dean EAB.
The guy who did the setup on it said "the strings are worth more than the bass."
It's the first time I've used them and I really dig the sound.
Oh yeah and number me too.

I am Curious now.... I have a MTD Kingston Artist coming to me. I have been a P-Bass Guy for sometime now. But, my Love for MTD Kingston Basses and a Price to good to pass up has led to a Music Man style Pickup. The ONLY pickup on the Artist is a MM style Soap Bar.

Anyone using TAPEWOUNDS on a MM, or something with a similar pickup style? :wideyed: Wondering how they sound...... Regardless, the FIRST thing I will do when I get it is slap some Tapes on it. I have issues....:help:

Greetings from the North,

I'm in. I've had a set of Tapes on at least one of my basses at all times since the early 1970's. 69 Les Paul, 3 different 4001 Rics, Hayman 4040, BH5 Reverend etc all have worn Tapes. I really like 'em and they record really well.

okay, I'm in - I've been using LaBella blacks for years on my fretlesses (almost only have FLs)

Fodera, P, Basslines Worp, custom archtop, etc. etc.

2 things I haven't tried but want to are:

1. black tapes on one of my DBs - Ron Carter has been using them for decades and his tone is great
2. the new whites on my Fodera Imp Elite 5 36" scale - problem is I can't find whites listed as XL 5s

help!! tell me about the Whites vs the Blacks really curious

BTW, LaBellas have always seemed the best 30 yrs experience with them - I tried Fenders and some off brand once each and went back to LBs (but it could've been my imagination)

I have heard that whites are a little brighter than blacks.
I run LaBella on all my basses except my freted G&L has Fender SS flats on it right now cause they were the only new ones I had on hand. I like them as well not as warm as tapes but nice.
Back to the tapes. I can get plenty of bright with balck tapes. So all I really know about them is what I read.

No need for a number, but I've got D'Addario Tapes on my Ibanez AEB5E acoustic. I first used them on a Squier P, then a Squier Standard P 5-string, and now I have a set on the acoustic (I have La Bella Deep Talkin' Flats on the Standard P 5-string)

I'm saving up for a Squier Vintage Modified Precision V (with the split-coil PU) and I might consider some of the La Bella Tapes for that.. Not sure if I want White, Black or Copper. Probably White. We'll see; gotta get the bass first :D
