Anyone who has the Douglas WOB 826 TBL put Labella Gold White tapes on it? I'm thinking about getting both as my first 6 string and my first tapewound set. I was wondering how they sound and how they look together. Any pictures would be appreciated.

I put a set of La Bella white tapes, 750T-B, on my Fender today. I bought them from the store here and I must say that Paul has been awesome to deal with. I had rounds on it that I just wasn't digging for a few reasons. The Gold Whites I tried on another bass led me think I might like these. I do! I played them last night at practice. Great tonal options from very bright to dark. I really dig the way these tapes are versatile in tone and the feel is just what I expect. To me, the best of both worlds: perfect feel and wide tonal options. Photo attached, FWIW.

Yes... the tape is translucent and the color of the winding shows through. I think I am going to try a set of coppers on another bass to see what the tone is like for them. I wonder how long these will last. Anyone have a set thats been on for say more than a year? Longer?
I have a new unopened pack of La Bella Copper White tapes for 6 string if anyone is looking. Figured I'd mention it here as they can be difficult to find.

I love D'Addario tapes. I had them on my P bass for a couple years, then took them off for rounds for a roots-rock/punk band which recently broke up. So I put the tapes back on, and it's the greatest feeling. I missed them.
I love labella copper and gold tapes. I played a guitar and the tone was fantastic, way better than may tenor bass with copper tapes but overall the tenor sounds just as good not because the tone but because how clean the strings sound as the guitar has the most obnoxious finger squeek noise. Plus the tapes are better than flats because they don't get sticky grippy and they are low tension and slides are great. The golds sound very close to rounds but I love the coppers too.

I have the Golds and the regulars. The golds are the brightest to be sure. Any frame of reference on the coppers versus the regular? Or black?
The blacks are deeper but darker sounding. D'Addario black tapes are the deepest sounding but you lose more of the round bright sound you get with the coppers and golds and even the whites (I don't care so much for the whites compared to the coppers as the whites sound cheap to my ear compared to the coppers). The coppers just sound better not quite as bright as the golds but they just have a real nice tone that makes whatever rig you are playing sound like its an upgrade more like a boutique bass if that makes sense.
Am. Pro. Fretless Jazz, with D'Addario ETB92 Nylons onboard.

I've had a set on my cheyenne for over a year. They still sound exactly the same as new.
They're really great sounding strings on the right bass.
