I recently purchased a used Epiphone Zenith bass. The prior owner had replaced the OEM strings, which were D'Addario tape wounds; and, as I usually restring any new used basses I have acquired, with new strings anyway, I replaced the steel rounds with the OEM D'Addario Tapes. As this was my first shot with tape wounds, and on a new (to me) bass, I didn't know quite what to expect, but I have to say that they are great! I'm not going to be replacing the strings on my other basses, but the Zenith plays real nice, has great 'growl' and the tapes feel like flat wounds!
