TARA Labs cable challenge!!

Edit: Hmmm, no wonder I missed the "snake oil" joke references. It has only been mentioned twice in this thread. I hope that 2 mentions of something doesn't really mean it has been done "to death". These forums would sure be quiet if that were the case.

I made no reference to that, but you are right. I think people with an opposing opinion feel they are helping others to avoid getting ripped off, which is easy to understand.

If someone hears a difference, they hear a difference,empirical or not.
Now I have not used a super cable but it stands to reason that if you get the right amperage and voltage, your electronics will work as they were designed to . If you've ever played a gig where the AC was bad, you'd believe that a Tara or similar cable would make a difference. My problem with the whole cable concept is: I can't afford miles of Tara cable to plug directly into a power station. I'll just have to use the wall like everyone else.

I was happy to see new posts but sad there are no results.

Bob et all, what's the delay? Last i heard you were only going to be hooking things up to oscillometers or possibly doing an A/B/X test, and with a factory of engineers who would all probably love to see the results it can't be THAT hard to find test volunteers... or have you foind something and are taking more time to investigate it? Any input at all?

Right now it's hard to find test volunteers and lab time (or any away-from-the-desk-and-phone time, for that matter) because of the Oracle system we're putting into place. :eek:

I'm working on getting together with Pat Quilter to get this testing and listening done, maybe later this week or sometime next week.

You could always half as$ the Oracle roll out, put your head between your legs and pray like my company did. ;) A year or so later you'll get it all worked out. :scowl:

Yeah, but it's not like Bob - or any of the testers for that matter - didn't already have some pretty firm ideas as to what the results would be.

Even so, if the tests are truly done "blind" or a/b/x then it shouldn't matter at all. Especially since I don't think Bob intends to be part of the test group of listeners.

Poor Bob. Eveveryone else gets to test the cables without any distracting reviews to cloud their perceptions. C'mon guys this is a difficult enough task without making it tougher. And Bob's is probably the opinion I'm most anxious to read (with no offense intended to any of the other testers), but not if everyone else publishes their results before he does his tests. If that happens, Bob you may as well send the cables back next chance you get.
