Bob Lee (QSC) said:Right now it's hard to find test volunteers and lab time (or any away-from-the-desk-and-phone time, for that matter) because of the Oracle system we're putting into place.![]()
I'm working on getting together with Pat Quilter to get this testing and listening done, maybe later this week or sometime next week.
At first, a sale guy was helping me with the F bass. Then the store manager came out to say hello and let's talkbass. I said, "Do you talkbass?" What's your handle?...There he is in person - Prockenklang...and then the good stuff...he brought out all the Tara cables for me
The tone of the F bass was more clean/clear and phat with the Tara cables. I got to play prockenklang's Fodera too!! Even my wife..not a bass player could tell the different in tone. With the regular cable,s she said it was "muffed". If you are in the bay area...take a trip down there and check out the cables yourself. Exactly. The rest (line, speaker) are already a given that there could be a difference.ivanthetrble said:Did you try the power cable by itself? I do believe that was the initially what this thread was about. I can believe that a speaker cable of insturment cable could make a difference (however small) but stil remains to be seen about the power cable by itself.

Hmmm ... seems to me that if the difference in sound was worth the difference in price, it would've hit you like a brick wall.Hman said:Yes, I made sure that the power cable was the only one for comparison and it did the trick for meOf course I was not a believer before and had to listen many times to make sure there is a difference.
The only way is to listen for yourself...try your local dealer for a test![]()
SMASH said:"Could" is right, but to the point of a difference between "muffled" and "clean/clear"? Only if they were something much worse than run-of-the-mill $10 cables to begin with.
Well, it's nice to start the day with a good laugh.

nashvillebill said:We're not talking about instruments, or amps, or even instrument cables. The basses you sell are certainly fine products, and there are objective ways to judge their quality in addition to subjective factors such as feel or appearance. And I'm not disputing your professionalism in selling these products
[This thread was about power cables, however, and you're deluded if you think an expensive three foot power cable can improve your amplifier tone compared to an "ordinary" power cable of sufficient gauge.]
