Nah Pete, you weren't the only one, and it does make sense.Petebass said:Sorry guys, it was me who asked the testers to hold their findings. I felt it was necessary to make this a fair test. I just wanted to make sure there was no bias or peer pressure distorting the findings of the testers. Hopefully we can settle the high end cable debate once and for all.
No, that's not it at all. You've misunderstood. The request was specifically in regard to the round-robin test that Tim set up, it applied (as I understood it) only to those specific testers, and it was only to last until the tests were completed. The idea was to try to avoid prejudicing the perceptions of the testers who had not yet tried the cables. Tripster, AFAIK, is not part of that test, nor is prockenklang AFAIK.cheezewiz said:So....its ok to post positive comments, but if negative ones get posted, then someone cries to Tim to remove them?
prockenklang said:Maybe he can help shed a little light on why these cables do what they do, I know he has the proper testing equipment, and I too would like to SEE the differences that I can already hear on some sort of scope or some other form of testing equipment.
Thanks Richard. Cheeze, did you relly expect the Tara sales paople to shut up until the test was over? Salespeople never know when to shut up.Richard Lindsey said:No, that's not it at all. glad to see you made it home ok! Your clinic at my store was awesome, thanks again!!
Seeing Bob Lee's latest post reminds me of something that happened the other day at my store. Our Tascam rep came in to say hi and to also let me know that he is also our QSC rep.Our other two stores carry QSC,and he really wants my store to stock it too.He also told me how he had recently seen a mutual friend of ours who happens to be the Monster Cable rep,and told me how he really teased him when he tried to tell him about the new Monster Cable power cable! I asked my QSC rep,by-the-way,his name is John Hood,if he tried the Monster power cable and he said no,and he also said that he couldn't believe that they could possibly make an amp sound better.I asked him if he had a minute to try something, and he said OK.I pulled out one of my Tara Labs power cables and took him to the bass department. We hooked up a rig with a standard power cable, then the same rig,and same settings, with the Tara Labs power cable. He was blow away to say the least!!! I handed him the bass to try it for himself, just so he would see that I wasn't trying to alter my playing in favor of the Tara Labs.He was even more blown away!! After a few minutes of going back and forth,I told him about this thread on Talkbass and how Bob Lee at QSC didn't believe it was possible.
A few minutes after John Hood left my store,he called me on his cell phone to tell me that he couldn't believe what he had just heard!
