Not that I'm speaking from experience but there seems to be this aversion to tribals now in the tattoo community as they're considered "tacky and dated". This is what I have heard, I have no idea if it's true or not.

Is anyone else glad the barbed wire armband went the way of the Dodo?
Isn't that a public safety hazard? One of those barbs gets too close and there could be a silicone explosion.
A few years ago I did some serious soul searching into my aversion to tattoos on women. (I used to feel like many here, but got over it)
Now, keep in mind that I'm speaking only for myself and that I don't intend for this post to convey any notion that I think anyone else is the same, but ultimately, I was intimidated. Not in the way that I thought a chick I liked would kick my ass, but in that I thought she was too cool for me. Basically, I felt that if a sufficiently cool enough guy - someone closer to her level - someone fun - came along, I'd get ditched for the chaff I am. This lead to feelings of "sour grapes" that prevented me from approaching certain girls.
This, of course, is completely irrational, but it was so deep in my mind that it was below the reach of logic until I rooted around and actually looked at it. I feel much more secure now that I've addressed it. I don't get that confused feeling of admiration and aversion all mixed up together anymore.
That all said, the Suicide Girls are definitely cooler than me, so I'd probably be too shy to talk if I met one of them.
EDIT: If a chick's tats look like a friend with a tattoo gun drew them, I genuinely DON'T like that look. That's not insecurity on my part, that's avoiding a chronic bad decision-maker.

not everyone who is tattooed judges "coolness" by whether or not you are tattooed. Im a tattooist, and my wife doesnt have a single one, and Im very happy with that. She's the coolest!
Suicide girls are just girls. Yeah, they're known for tattoos and piercings and most are drop dead gorgeous, but they're just girls. The one I posted, Radeo, lives here in town, along with several others, and she's a cool chick. They like hanging out, playing video games, going to shows, going shopping, etc. just like any other girl out there. Tattoos do not make someone cool. Coolness has to be in you in order to be cool. Now, if you're cool, chances are you might have a tattoo. However, you may not have one and still be just as cool. I think a lot of people, like yourself, generally have an insecurity about people with modifications and automatically put them in a category, whether it be a good category or not. The truth is is that tattooed people generally don't care if you have tattoos or not but a non-tattooed person would generally care more.
That bit about SG was a joke. Being shy around hot girls has nothing to do with tats. My insecurities about tattoos I got over a few years ago. My last gf had quite a few tattoos and the two before her each had one.

No hanging going on here. I was just using your post to bring out a point that you actually made in your last post which was about insecurities. It wasn't a personal attack.
