Well, I wasn't necessarily implying that she has to be a Suicide Girl or in the punk scene or anything. Being able to cover tattoos fairly easily is a good thing. I'm inked on both arms, and I can cover them easily. I actually wear a suit to work on most days. But that's something I was willing to deal with - having to wear Stafford shirts instead of short-sleeve polos when the situation called for business casual. Plus, I'm pretty educated, so I put myself into a situation where I may not necessarily have to take a job that required a short-sleeve uniform.

Getting the "tramp stamp" just seems like an easy out for a lot of the females I know who want to be able to say they have tattoos but have something that only gets pulled out - as I said - in the bar on Saturday when they're wearing low-riders. My friend and former guitarist's girlfriend has a fair amount of ink that she can hide very easily, even with a t-shirt and jeans. To me, that's different than picking something trendy like a tribal tramp stamp to then say, "Oh, I have a tattoo." I actually feel the same about the dudes who get the cliche armbands real high on their arms and you can only see them when they are wearing sleeveless shirts while they play basketball down at the park.

At the end of the day, it is their choice. And who am I to judge what other people do? But when it comes to mate choice, I'm personally going to be more attracted to the girl who was willing to get a sleeve then the girl who picked some tribal tramp stamp flash off the wall so she show it off every couple of weeks with a pair of low-riders and a tank top.

I never said it was.

Personal taste is personal taste.

If you hate the look of tattoos - that is just fine. Not a huge fan myself.

I'm just pointing out that you basically said:

I don't like any body modifications

followed by:

I really just don't like tattoos

Both are perfectly acceptable personal opinions to hold - but they contradict each other.

If you don't like tattoos, but don't mind other cosmetic changes - then just say you don't like tattoos. Why add the extra if it isn't applicable?

Whether you like it or not I applaud any woman who is secure enough with themselves and their body to do whatever they see fit to express themselves fully. If it's not hurting you, why do you care, other than to establish a preference...beyond that, you're in no position to judge that person...

hell, recently here someone said they automatically equated tats on a girl diseases...simply a really dumb view.

If it's not directly affecting or "hurting" you, Live and let live already.

I don't care if someone has tats. Like I stated I have 3 from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Now that I'm a bit older I no longer find them appealing however. It's certainly nothing to judge a person on. I see them kinda like bookmarks. Takes you back to the place you were when you look at them. Unless you're looking at someone else's of course. Then it's just an ink spot.

I didn't "basically" say anything. I started a thread about female tattoos. If it makes your day to feel I contradicted myself, please be happy.

I don't really like em. Frequently in my younger days my 'type' (the type that hangs out with musicians) would have em. Doesn't bother me, but doesn't do anything for me.

They are so commonplace here that I don't even give em a second look. I mean everyone has them here.

I never got one, wife doesn't have any. I don't think either of us plan on getting them. I think we are just about the only two people under 30 that I know that don't have them.
