Tatoos on Women?

I'd amend my first post saying that quality is key. A bad quality tattoo is always just that, bad. I'm not even talking about the actual design here, just the talent of the tattoo artist.

Size, location, etc. being secondary.

I was watching the pseudo-documentary Flesh and Blood the other day and came to the conclusion that while it may not be for me, I actually don't mind most body modifications and can appreciate them for their esthetic values.

And lots of other body "mods" to be anti about: boobies mods, plastic surgery in general, colored contact lenses, skin color changes, hair coloring, hair straightening, hair curling, hair plucking, hair blow drying, false eye lashes, hair replacement, wigs, hair extensions, designer hair cuts, long finger nails, finger nail painting/designing, designer bras (that lift'm, padd'm, tilt'm, push'm, pull'm, support'm, show'm), body suits (formerly known as girdles), anti-aging products, dark spot removers, acne creams, Booty Pops, tailored clothes, designer accessories (purses, etc.), perfume and all the other myriad of products, processes and potions that everyone uses inside and outside of their bodies to feel better and look better (in their opinion).

Agreed. Which makes me a huge hypocrite since I've got three tats from my very early youth. All in low visibility areas though, at least.

Yeah, the gal has got to know how to work it, if she's gonna sport some ink. And it really needs to be top quality art.

(I happen to have about 70 hours of ink myself, which isn't a whole lot of coverage due to the style and general quality. Most people that meet me in winter time never even know it.)

That's about like saying a chick in playboy is ugly, they may not be our particular flavor, but they are all very beautiful women. I've seen plenty I don't find very appealing but never any to cause me to go to the extreme of terrible or ugly.

No. I find her completely unattractive. I'm sorry you don't agree but that doesn't make me wrong.

As a few people have already said, it really depends on the woman. I wasn't the big fan of women having ink or crazy piercings until recently. I'm still not the biggest fan of it in a general sense, but I can appreciate it on the right woman. Unfortunately, a lot of women get something done when they probably shouldn't. Same goes for guys, too.

Hmmm... I think I'd say that an attractive woman is an attractive woman, tattooed or not, though a badly-conceived tattoo can definitely mess things up. But that's at first impression; somebody said a page back or so that what looks hot at 20 may not at 40. If were going to be in a long-term relationship with someone, something that was a turn-on on the first date might not be such a thrill after a couple years. People grow and change and the tat may no longer communicate who you are in later life.

I guess I'd say that while I wouldn't be so categorical to say tats automatically ruin a woman's looks, on the whole I'd prefer a woman without them, or at least where they're moderate and subtle.

My wife and I don't have any. We've tinkered with the idea of getting some for years but never done anything about it.

I'll say what I said in the "first date" thread: If she has a Suicide Girls/Kat Von D thing going on, then, yum, yum, yum.

If she wears dumpy wife-beaters, looks anorexic, and has stringy hair, then they make her look trashy.

I'm also not a fan of "tramp stamps," not because I find them ugly pe say. Rather, I find getting one to be the easy way of getting ink without being committed to the lifestyle of having a tattoo. In other words, a lot of the people who get them are sorority girls who can feel bad ass at the bar during the weekend when they wear low-rider jeans, but wouldn't dare flash a tattoo during the normal weak. Total turnoff. It's possible to get tattoos in relatively conspicuous locations that are still easily coverable for professional jobs and other events that require a woman (or man) to look conservative.

P.s. I know. I just did a lot of judging there. :D

And what lifestyle is that? Could you not say the same for anyone who has an easily coverable tattoo, like say a guy with a shoulder tat, for example?
