Funny thing is, I AM looking at a Specialized mountain bike. Costs just a bit less than a brand new MIA P bass: $1,150.

That's bad. You need more posts and more GAS. It's the American way. And the Australian way. And the Swedish way. And the Chinese way. And the Outer Mongolian way. It's global. It's TalkBass and GAS. It's a breakfast topping.
I stay out of the BASSES section for that very reason. Luckily, OT offers the chance to indulge one's TB habit in gas-free form.
I've come to adore my P bass. Flats on it, of course. That bass is the lovechild of my boredom and heavy TB use.

I discovered that if you have on Thunderbird and you like the ergos, you actually need five of them. At least five.
It starts with a little sniff on a Friday night. Then you're back on Saturday...not necessarily looking, but if the moment should arise, you wouldn't say no. Then it turns into every weekend. Next thing you know, you're calling Lil' Shug to pop off a bump.
Since having my TB visitation rights restored, I've wanted to get the extension cab for my MB210-II. Dang.

GAS is killin' me lately. I've spent way, way, way too much money...
Do you at least gig to earn it back? That's the only way I justify my spending.
I sell stuff. Then regret it. On rare occasion buy it back and return the new thing. Yeah it happened.
I gig a bit, otherwise I really couldn't justify it all. However our last gig netted me a princely $50. Lol.
I buy and sell stuff as well. I can spot a deal when it comes up, and have the flexibility to act quickly.
Unfortunately I sometimes/often become emotionally attached to the new 'bargain', and don't want to sell...
