CQ, CQ, CQ, ... This is "the Dog" callin' anybody out there, come on back.

I'm, uh, calling for a friend. I ... uh, he's kinda addicted to TB, ya know. It's like, there's other stuff he wants to do, and really needs to do, ... like practice the bass more, for one.

And that's not even to mention what my, .. uh, ... his wife wants him to do. Sheesh! She's always got something ... uh, ... so he says. But, it's hard, ya know, to just stop readin' all the interesting stuff here. Like, even the not-so-interesting stuff is still kinda interesting, ya know?

And the clubs? Oh, lort, don't get me started on the clubs. He just can't get enough of the clubs, ya know?

Anyway, is this still a thing, or what?

So, how about The TB Addict Club? Did they develop a cure and all leave?? Does @twinjet no longer give out numbers, or is that too "enabling"??? 'Cause I, ... that is, my friend, really needs "the cure" if they gots one. Uh, . . . like just now, I put my tablet down to go to the bathroom and, when I come back, he had posted this confession in another thread using my name!!! He's really getting bad!

I know dat's right! My kids cured me of even playing much music for several years! But it was SO worth it!! Momma & I really got into church choir, though.

And the empty nest phase was great. And then the grandkids are fantastic!!! Love to see 'em come. Stir 'em all up (silly grampaw). Then, love to collapse when they go. Whew!

But, now half the grandkids are grown, or think they are, and the other fun half live too far away. The nearest grandkids are "cool" (sullen) teenage boys that claim to have their own lives. And retirement is great, and all, with jams & gigs now frequent enough to keep me fairly busy.

But, somehow, I still ..., uh, I mean, my friend still has too much discretionary time that he spends on TB. He and I have, uh, very similar situations. Just that I'm not addicted, like he is.

Yeah, like what kinda example does that set? Start a club and just, you know, abandon it? I mean, what if everybody did that? There'd be, like, tons of abandoned clu... . . . . uh, . . .

Well, whataya know? I just did a search and got, like, 64 pages(!), at 40 per page, of threads with "club" in the title. That's about 2,560 threads! Minus a hunnert "Hofner Club" (the bass model) threads, a hunnert "clubs" as in venues, a hunnert "Where's the ____ club?" threads, and a couple hunnert others, and that leaves about a couple thousand actual proposed Club threads! And then my quick review of a buncha them found several non-starters and a whole lotsa abandoned and/or burnt out(?) clubs.

So, maybe not everybody, but a lotta people are doing it. Abandoning clubs, I mean. Seems pretty common, actually. I mean, like, even this one started in October 2015 and only ran 'til November 2016 before I recently need..., uh, ... found it, ... for my friend; I found it for my friend. That's, like, just 14 months of a good run, then pfffft, nothing for the next 3 years!

Then, they all take the cure and leave! What's that a boot?

Lost track? LOST TRACK!?! Did you never list your TB Clubs in your Signature, where your every post can advertise/brag/proclaim them? Or never list them in the Information tab of your Profile, at least for the snoops to see???

Actually, my (uh) friend found this TB Addict Club, somehow. I told him this is the one he really needs! Then, when I saw it had been empty for 3 years, I knew there must be a cure that he needs. I can understand that becoming a TB Staffer might kill the thrill for one, but they didn't all get on the payroll!

Mmmm, yum! I would love a burrito! It's been a couple days since I had one.

But, there, again, is an absolutely delicious club that has been abandoned for 2 years now. Did you find a cure for burritos??!? I could, ... that is, my friend could use that, too. But, it could only possibly be fajitas! And that wouldn't fix his problem, just cost more.
