Speaking of Beatles Fest:

Was just running an errand in my car, listening to The Beatles Channel on SiriusXM, as usual, and they say, "We know it's a difficult time, and we want to help. So, from now until May 15th you can stream SiriusXM for free. No credit card, no commitment." :woot:

I am not affiliated with SiriusXM in any way, other than being a paid subscriber and fan of their Beatles Channel. I thought I knew pretty much everything about The Beatles before getting the free trial with a new car a couple years ago. But the interviews and trivia stuff has been a Beatles education to me.

I dunno, looks worth a look. But don't axe me no quexxions or tell me no diffugilties. That's what I heard and that's what I found on their website. I'm just sayin' . . . .
.
G-Dude, my friend. I had the same experience about a year ago. Got a trial and got hooked on Beatles channel too!

FYI, XM can be streamed to pretty much any device. Now you don't have to be in your car to listen. How cool is that? I suggest at least trying it out for those not in the loop. Lots of channels including sports, real-time news and more.

Yes, O great Stumbled One, not to sound like a commercial, but there are all kinds of music channels for every taste, as far as I can tell. From classical to jazz to rap, country, metal, punk, ... whatever. :)

Yup, I occassionally fire it up on my tablet, too, which is also my main TB vehicle. But, of course, I just can't get enough of the Beatles alternate tracks, stories and trivia, in addition to all their grat recordings and individual solo work. :smug:

Hello. It's me, again. Yes, I'm stil ... I mean, my friend is still addicted to TB. And it's totally much worse with that viral thang keeping the music venues closed. It's even like, why practice if there's no chance of performing? ... uh, or so he says! So, he just spends all his time on TalkBass, instead.

So, still looking for the cure, or vaccine, to get me ..., uh, him, off of TB and back to reality! Why? Well, for one thing he's just totally vegging out on the couch, fingers flying on the keyboard all day, reading, replying, posting, and constantly sending me stuff to add to the TalkBass Clubs & Special Interest Groups INDEX wiki page. I don't know where he finds all that stuff! Or how he finds it! Or why!?! Sheesh!

Won't somebody help me out here?

Hey, all you addicts, like uh, ... my friend is! How is everybody coping?

So, I suggested to my TB addict friend, whom I think I've mentioned here before, that this club should have a theme song. And the jist of the sparkling conversation that ensued was, "ok, whatever". So I pitched this song and our thoroughly incisive debate finally boiled down to, "ok, sure", for obvious reasons. So, what does the rest of the TB Addict Club membership think of this for a club theme song?

OMG! OMG! OMG! OH! Lawdy, mercy! Whew! Oh, my! I was jus..., uh, ... that is, my friend was just about to do something drastic in response to losing TalkBass for so long!!!

I dunno what ..., uh, ... he mighta done, but it woulda been ugly, I'm sure! Why he was just beside himself, right next to me, by just the second day.

Welcome back, TalkBass! Please don't ever leave for so long again. That was even scarier than the whole past year of quarantine!!! :(

an addict club that hasn't posted since april? weird.... must be distracted on other forums.

IKR? That's what makes me think they've developed a cure/antidote. But they won't share it with anyone!!! Of course, ... <ahem> ... I don’t need it, myself. But, uh, my friend has a terrible addiction to TB that has me worried sick for him! He just can't seem to tear himself away!

Maybe they'll listen to you. Please, for the sake of all the TB addicts out there, give it try?

I might need a number for an addict friend as well....

Oh, yeah! There's gotta be lots & lots of TB addicts. It was a pandemic long before covid! But, I think some people are just too shy to admit it.

I mean, there are SO many fascinating topics, everyone is bound to find several of interest. Why, you can even start your own topic about (almost) anything you can think up! And it always seems like The Definitive Answer is just about to appear, which keeps you hanging on. :rollno:

And, by "watching" your favorite threads you can be notified when someone else posts there! So, it literally keeps calling you back! :eyebrow:

Ah yes, here is what we need - a gathering for bass players who subscribe to a bass player forum.

This forum is for those of us who like to prowl about the forums at all sorts of weird hours. We are a special type. We like to read, learn, joke, help, post, talk, but we do it a little more than what is considered safe for human consumption.

Redundant? Probably. Fun? Hey, it's what you make it.

This will be a LIMITED EDITION CLUB and only a certain number of numbers will be given out. Let's play it backwards. Perhaps I'll issue more numbers.

Enlist for a chance to win a chance to win (see what I did there?) the best bass for metal.
