TB Noise Compilation V.3

I only keep the Myspace because... I really don't know why. I fixed the new layout but it still looks like crap, and I login maybe three times a year. Main site is Link Removed and even though I updated it recently, there is zero new content! :smug:

EDIT: I think you're right though, screw Myspork! I'm changing my signature. Take THAT, Murdoch!

I won't know how I feel about my submission till after I hear everything else. I had a more structured idea ready to go with a drum track (kinda) and synth but when the gauntlet was thrown down to just do one take I just went with it.

Should be done by this weekend. I can upload the wav files to a yousendit or somesuch service and post the link. Nad will be hosting the permanent link to the mp3s.

Anyone want to take a stab at formatting the cover art and adding the text for the liner notes?

And we need to finalize a title. I think something indicative like Noise Improvisations would be appropriate.

My contribution sucks.

I feel the same way about mine. I had a good idea and then the challenge was made and I couldn't use it anymore.

I tried to be chaotic but I feel like I needed another effect or two. I tried to compensate using the doodads on my jag but I don't really like how it came out but it was my first time trying that so not too bad I guess.

I'm ready for 4 though!

I'll give it a shot when I get home. Aiming for menacing, or more serene?

Could I get a list of names and track names for the art?

here's about 5 minutes worth of work, just messin around:

TalkBass Presents... Autoschediastic pandemonium

good idea/theme? autoschediastic means "something that is improvised or extemporized". Need to put something about #3 on there, which i just thought of, but figured i'd get a general yay/nay

I like. I can send you the high-res image if you send me your e-mail in a PM.

Hey folks - I've been having some personal issues which have delayed my finishing the project. I will have the tracks done tomorrow and Bassk will be asking contributors to fill in some blanks for the liner notes.

MP3s will go out first, followed in a few days by a link to a zip file of the wavs. If all goes according to plan, all should be ready by Friday evening.

More bad news - SONAR is not working properly-- all of the tracks are sped up during mixdown. I've spent all morning troubleshooting and on the forums to no avail. Looks like Cakewalk is closed for the holidays, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to resolve the issue. I'm embarassed that I'm unable (momentarily) to deliver the product as promised. Today is the only slot I have available to work on this (due to the holiday and some family issues) with the possibility of a few hours tomorrow morning. Again, sorry about this. I will try again on Monday unless there is a Christmas Miracle...:(

I've been sitting here for four hours now and I'm completely exasperated. I decided to purchase Reaper as a big kiss my a$$ to Cakewalk, but now the problem is reversed. The original trax all seem sped up, so I'm thinking that SONAR, on which I've been mixing everything for the noise comp so far has been playing everything back at half time and warping my senses. So now I don't know which way is up.

Speeding up / slowing down usually means mis-matched sample rates, right? (If your "project" in your NLE is 44.1 and your files are 48...)

Are you mixing? or just mastering?

Did everyone submit with the same sample rate & bit depth?

If your head asplode I can perform an xmas miracle, set up a spot for you to FTP WAVs to me, and I can master in Logic/Waveburner. (OMG, did I just volunteer to do that?)

Bingo -it was mismatched sample rates! Some submissions were not in the proper format, so when I loaded them into SONAR, there were some timing issues. I simply imported each file into it's own SONAR file and that solved the problem. No sploding necessary. Now I just need to find NAD's e-mail so I can send him the mp3s.

The files will be as-is, in their pre-mastered state, so that I can get them out as promised for the holiday. I will revisit them if there are any issues to correct in normalization or whatnot.

Thanks for your offer, though. Good to know there are folks willing to help out.
