Yesterday, I had the privilege of going to ALEMBIC to drop my bass off and I got to see the place. The break room has an ALIEN (Space Invaders ?? c'mon. We know the story ...) pinball machine AND a rack of ALEMBICS next to it. My silver car is seen through the window

There are some top notch emulators out there now, but it sucks Pinball Arcade lost tables from some good builders. It's available on Steam, and some hard to find legendary games are still represented, like Red & Ted's Road Show, Ripley's, and Monster Bash.
We have a place here in town with about 2 dozen tables, all level and tuned to perfection, from all eras. They are a private party place mostly, but open the doors every Wednesday for 3 hours of free play for $15 from 6 to 9. I've only been able to go once, but DAMN did I have some fun! They have some of the latest releases, including the new Rush table (unfortunately sucked, hardest corners/points/edges I've ever played. Makes every carom far more random, eliminating skill from the game), and a half dozen recent movie franchise models. I'll be there this week for sure! Added bonus for me, they have a few multi video game emulators, also all nicely tuned with fresh crisp controls. I took every high score slot on Robotron 2084, and royally pissed off a 14yr old after he announced, "move over old dude, I'll dust you!" Keep dreamin' junior. I told him if he ever beats me, I'll pay his $15 for the night.
My 5 favorite all time tables in order:
1. Diner Totally inappropriate voice characters, you couldn't make that one again, and the coffee cup orbit feature remains unique, and way fun.
2. Medieval Madness Best layout/linear task rules of all time. There is a reason it has been re-released like 5 times. Most games get released once. MM is also wicked funny.
3. Red & Ted's Road Show Over size table, with great linear tasks, and hilarious voice characters. So many ramps and targets to hit, it has spectacular evergreen cache.
4. Attack From Mars II This was the game that was supposed to launch the format into the new age of blended screen and physical table action. The creator unfortunately passed away not all that long after release, and the energy for the medium went with him. Also REALLY inappropriate voice characters.
5. Elvira II Great ramps and skill shots, and also nice linear tasks, Elvira is also pretty raunchy, so much so it even has a "safe for work" setting that tones it down.
I'll take some pics of some of the more killer tables, and share them here after Wednesday night.
And I will extend my wager to all. Anybody in Central NY/Syracuse region that can beat me at Robotron 2084, I'll pay your fee for the night.

Side note, seeking someplace with one of the new Munsters machines. Fantastic new generation table! Our local bar that has it can't get maintenance to come tune it, and it is currently beat to death.

Apparently the tables rotate weekly, cant' wait to see what is up and running tonight. They said last week they do have a Diner in the stable!
Robotron 2084 update, some dude (approx. my age) came in after I wiped their high score board....and almost doubled me! I'm topping out at around 140,000,000, this guy was posting scores near 200,000,000. I'm really hoping to run into him, and get to watch him play.
Next week I start my slot in the rotation hosting a local open mic night on Wednesdays, and won't be able to go for two months! Glad to be working, of course, but damn it.

It has a ton of animated features that make it tough to keep playing tight. New Metallica, Aerosmith, Stranger Things, Spider Man, and the newest Elvira (AWESOME new gen table built on the Medieval Madness platform) are currently in house, plus Firepower, one of the best golden age games. Posted the high score on Mr. Do, and made the list on Elvira. I improved my Robotron score, but still #2.

I finally put up a monster on the new Cactus Canyon. I've never played the original Bally, so it's new to me, AND a new machine. Quite fun, although the flippers are rather inconsistent. Won 15 bucks, to boot!
I really like the Godzilla machine! The upper ramp and loop shots are a bear to hit consistently, for me anyways, but it's such a unique layout I have fun regardless.
It's become a classic in the year since it came out. Designed by the best pinball player ever Keith Elwin. No WONDER the nerds love it!
