I couldn't do that since the box had a check for me (which was originally just a 'price difference' and became shipping reimbursement) and it was also shipped to my work where folks just sign for it downstairs. I actually wanted to take possession of the bass until at least mine gets back, just to make sure I have a hand to play if things go bad with my bass coming back to me.
TBer did not seem too concern about the busted case (I sent him a pic). Probably cause it was already in below average shape.
I'm surprised about some of you saying leave positive (?????) or no feedback at all here. Next time you do a trade, wouldn't you want to know if you are dealing with the same guy?? After all feedback has nothing to do with the current deal (if a deal's gone sour, feedback is not going to fix/return your stuff) , but rather build up a reputation for future deals with other people. This TBer has a 20+ feedback rating but given the case conditions and packaging, I doubt this is the first deal were someone ends up dissatisfied.
I hear you on the shipping thing. I didn't realize that you had a check coming in to you with it. makes sense.
On the feedback thing I would leave a "Neutral". This really is a good situation where it would apply. You and the seller reached a reasonable compromise. It seems that neither party was satisfied in the end, but neither had an experience that would warrant a "negative" feedback. Really the transaction has been nullified, because the basses were exchanged back. But you can't not leave a feedback as though nothing happened, because a transaction did, in fact, take place.
I vote Neutral.
