TBC Blowout on their eBay store.

Haven't had time to play thru anything besides a small practice amp do take this with a grain of salt.

Played both with all knobs on center, soapbars louder and fuller while the musicman picked were not as loud and seem to more nasal in comparison. I can get a good sound out of both just a little easier with soapbars. Both could stand a preamp swap, just not sure which preamp yet.

My main rig at church is a GK 700RB II and GK NEO 112 II. I have played the 400MM thru it for about a month and very happy, So I can't wait to try the 400SS Sunday.

Thanks Tank! I should be able to get my Bass Mods preamp installed this weekend. I'll let you all know how it sounds and try to get some sound clips posted.

If you can do a before and after kind of recording for a direct comparison. Both flat settings and all boosted so we can hear what frequencies are being modified between each pre. Can't wait to hear how you like it.

Will do! I'm interested to hear what the difference will sound like. I know that with the stock pre, I've got tons of boost and cut with the bass knob (too much perhaps), but very little mid and treble adjustment. From the sounds and video clips I've found online, the Bass Mods BEQ12 seems to roll very smoothly from bass to mid to high.

Here's a link to an audio sample of the BEQ12 (not sure what kind of bass or pickups)

I ordered a Bass Mods BEQ12 5 knob as a replacement for the stock preamp. Between honey do items this morning I was able to rig up quick test in my 400MM Sounds much better and Mids and highs actually now have control. No noticeable issues with pots or hum. Will see how it goes once I tighten everything down and play. looks like u will be ordering another for my 400SS.

Good to hear! Things have been a bit hectic on my end so I haven't gotten to mine yet. In fact I've been at the hospital since Wednesday morning welcoming my new son to the world & I have had family in town since last weekend. I'll try to get some before & after sound clips done this weekend.
