Hey, so do you think $500 CAD is a good price for this bass?

Also, In playing around with the knobs, it seems like the two smaller knobs are volume and pickup balance/selector, and the other three are indeed low, mid, high.

It is a JT-500JJ...Yes the rear nob is "balance". I dont know what 500 CAD is in USA dollars. I tend to value these basses more than some folks do I think they are awesome basses, and as long as you think its worth $500, thats all that matters. From what I remember they were around $700 New, but when the owner was going out of business they were being sold on Ebay for much less.

I paid $350 USD for mine about four years ago with nice hard case. The neck is amazing!! I installed Bartolini's and a Nordstrand preamp with passive push pull, mid select push pull, and three way coil select for the bridge humbucker. It's a beast!!

Would you know what model my Black TBC is. Its said to be Sabre-esque. I can't find any info on it, also wonder what the mini toggle does? Bright up, dulls the tone when down.

Man, I have seen several of those over the years, but I have never known what the name of that model is. I think those were very early models because I dont remember ever seeing those on the TBC website when I started getting into TBC's. I saved some pics and information from the original website 7 or 8 years ago, but have nothing on those.

From what I can gather this was possibly a law suit model. Again the neck and fretwork are amazing. This was a closet queen find. The guy wanted the Squire so bad. He had the TBC on local marketplace for trade. Said he couldn't figure out the controls?? I am pretty sure it's an American made model, and yes early one.

Looks like my four string just above in this post. I can't find any info on mine. This one has a great figured Maple top!! Pickups look to be changed as well. What are you trading? These if I'm not mistaken were a lawsuit build. Sabre clone.

Hi jaysbass, well if I were to buy it he wants $666. usd. From what I see online, ( from a couple of years ago ) I was thinking it's priced too high. The bass I was thinking of trading for it is my 4 string Deluxe quilted maple, tobacco burst/maple neck 4401 Lakland Tribute 4 string that has Nordstrand big splits and a Bartolini on board preamp. He agreed to kick in $200 on top. Am I crazy?

Yeah, I must agree too. The TBC is beautiful and I’d like to get a 5’er, but after I listed the Laklands attributes I definitely was having 2nd thoughts. Thanks for the input folks. I’ll sleep much better tonight.
