I have used nothing but my iPhone and it has worked phine. Now not so much. I guess I'll have to plug in soon.
I just ordered another one from Musicians Friend. Hopefully the second time will be a charm. I think buying online is easier for a return. The only hassle is to bring amp prepaid to a ups store. You still have to bring the amp back to a music store.
Ok the sonic string modulator and desert flower are both MIA. This is no bueno.
We also need delay and reverb on this humpty dumpty.

Toneprint app is acting weird again on my iPhone. Half the toneprints are missing again and favorites list has been cleared.
Sorry to hear that. That's one thing that that is working well. Try closing all your apps and restart the phone. Mine always runs better when I do that,

My BG250 was just delivered, yay! But... I'm at work... 5:00 can't come sooner, can't wait to go home and play with it!
Last night I had to spend a little time with my new bg250. Was dying to get home but had some car trouble while out and my wife and I had to drive home for about 40 miles with a broken radiator... but we made it! First impression... light years better than my Behringer that I've been using but that was to be expected. Not to be vulgar but I almost crapped my pants when I played a few notes.
I went and did the update right away so i could play with the tones and my pedals. Flanger and chorus sounded the most usable to me overall. Very nice to have usuable effect sounds in my amp to incorporate with my other sounds.
The only nagging thing I'm pondering today is that I would get a digital sounding crispiness at certain settings or with my existing pedals. Less dark and smooth and more like sizzling bacon. While bacon tastes delicious.. I think the tube drive is what was causing it so I'll have to play with it a bit or just turn it off.
The amp just has a great modern tone that I don't think will have any problem cutting through the mix in my current projects. I also like that it weighs so little for as big as it sounds. I found myself not even needing the tone shaping I was doing with my zoom b3 because it sounded fine without it. Can't wait to play with it some more, will be practicing with a drummer and guitarist in a couple days so I can really see what she's made out of.

Just wondering, have the toneprint effects made anyone knock pedals off their board? Also, has anyone tried a real tube preamp into it?
I play with a band that always has a sound rig, so I've thought about using this combo without my pedal board. I'm not a big effects user, so I could get by with the onboard TubeDrive and an effect loaded into Toneprint. My concern is that some of the Toneprints are no longer contained in the app, and that I can not rely on TC offering a particular effect that I am counting on.
It is kind of crazy how some of the apps disappear and reappear randomly but honestly I would have bought the amp without the toneprint. The combination of great tone, light weight and affordable price was amazing.
Right now I count at least 4 toneprints that TCE lists on their site for the BG250 that are no longer in the iPhone app. If I have to use my laptop to change effects, it kinda defeats the purpose.
I agree that doesn't make a lot of sense to take away toneprint sounds. I did think of a possible workaround while I was on my break though.

The sounds for each of the effects are stored on your phone as an mp3 file that plays when you select the sound in the toneprint amp. You could either A: Find the MP3 that corresponds with that effect and save it elsewhere or B: record the sound using either a phone app or by hooking it up to your PC. Now all you have to do is play the mp3 back to get your toneprint sound. Easy eh?
I'll play with it some later... could probably start a soundcloud with backups to the signature sounds if anyone would be interested.

Ah, even easier, it looks like the toneprint sounds are available off their website (looking at toneprint.xml, haven't went on the site yet). Well there you go, download the mp3, put it on your phone, and play it when you want it!
Ok.. a little more tricky than that. Alright, so I read back through and saw how StrangerDanger was missing the Desert Flower toneprint. All of the mp3s for the toneprints are stored on the tc electronic site under the /media/ folder. When you update the app, it saves the mp3 in the cache of the app as a random numerical filename (getting real geeky eh?). For example, the link to the creature baby chorus for the BG 250 is... [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. On your phone it'll look like 102342134.mp3. You can see these paths in the toneprint.xml file that the app downloads.
Anyway, after following their naming convention, I tried [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and it pulls an mp3 for me. I'm at work, so I can't test it, but I bet you that'll work.
EDIT: I saved the mp3 to my phone already to test when I get home. Really can't think of any reason it shouldn't work unless they changed the coding with the new patch but I highly doubt it. Let me know if it works!

Reporting from my basement... The desert flower mp3 I posted from the tc electronic site works! Just save it and play it on your phone. Any other sounds people are missing?
