TC Electronic BG250 Club

I got my replacement this week. I got no information on what the problem was or other instances of the same symptoms.
The outfit that I bought from said in passing that mine is the only BG250 return they've had so far. An obvious question would have been to ask how many have been sold through them, but in the moment, I didn't.
I have a lower volume gig at the end of the month, and I'll try to build some trust with it.

I got another good compliment on my BG250 yesterday. We were auditioning a new drummer at a rehearsal studio and even though they have a rig there I brought mine to see how it was in a bigger room with a full PA.
The rig they have there is an Ampeg 350 SS with an 810. I was showing the guy that runs the place and he said "wow that's what I'm hearing? I could have sworn it was the Ampeg. I'm gonna let my guy know about it he's looking for a smaller lightweight rig."
With my Spector I had the gain on maybe 6 and the master on 5 and it's plenty loud enough. Tons of low end and punchy. I really need the footswitch though. I love that I carry my amp and my bass in one trip. Although if I knew they were coming out with the BH250 head I might have gotten one of those and a 115 cabinet.

Glad they took care of you. When I got mine it was the floor model they didn't have any new ones and they couldn't find the package with the accessories. They did give me a USB cable they dug up and I downloaded the manual from the TC website plus they cut me a bit of a break because it had a couple of scuffs on it.
It took a little while to check out the mixer I traded in for it so I watched over it while I waited in case someone else wanted to pick it up!
i got mine the yesterday and i absolutely love it...punchy but ain't afraid to give you the growl if you need it...i have told sooo many people about this and i htink i have a couple peeps sold on it...i can't wait to use this live...
Yes. They are manufactured/assembled in China. TC Electronic is based in Denmark.
Rocked mine out today with a drummer and single heavily distorted guitar... Came through like a champ. Made the cheap Maestro passive bass, I just picked up, sound great! I've gotten complements with both sets of folks I've jammed with.
Howdy folks. I might be picking up one of these today. Sorry if I missed it in the thread, what footswitch does this amp use? I read a Switch-3, is that correct? The RC-4 (if it even works) is useless to me due to not being able to tune flat.

Also fenderhutz the built in tuner does not tune flat only standard pitch.
Cool. I just ordered one WITH the SWITCH-3 footswitch for 384 Shipped. I did a price match workaround.
The tuner isn't a deal breaker for me since I have a bass chromatic tuner on my board.
My goal was to get a combo amp:
1. At least 250 watts
2. Under 40lbs
3. Under $400
4. Has a warranty. (got an extended year for free)
It was either this or an Ibanez Promethean 15 combo for the same price. I chose this due to having the effects to noodle with.
I hope I like this amp and I am just basing my opinion on Youtube and on here due to not having a dealer nearby.

Roadcase eh? What dimensions did you get on that? My only complaint with the amp is that it really took a beating under light/normal trailer trips.
Nice job on the price and package deal. For me, the tuner and effects are throw-ins, the deal was made at the weight, price and sound/loudness.
I ended up selling my RC-4. The tuner display on it was nice, but I make very little use of the RH presets, and just don't have a problem punching mute on the head. I can't see going for the Switch-3. It would have been nice if it had the ability to toggle between two TonePrints. The way that the computer uploader works made me think that might be a possibility. It apparently holds the previous one in memory.
If you have, an RC-4, then you have an RH and I assume are aware of the wattage matters that have been discussed. In light of that, I'd assume that if the BG250 has the same design feature of APM as the RH heads, then it is a 250 w power module, not 250 w RMS output. You might want to adjust your #1 goal of "at least 250 watts" to a loudness goal.
Most people seem to be impressed with how it performs. Let us know.
A roadcase would seem to kill the weight advantage, but I guess the weight isn't necessarily a major factor for everyone. Hopefully they'll make a padded cover.
The way the Switch-3 works according to what I have read is 1 button is mute, 1 button is overdrive (on/off) and the other turns off the effects (toneprint).
I can return the footswitch if it doesn't seem useful.
Yup. I watched the video. Different strokes, I guess. I'm just not a pedal guy. Some find it that much more convenient. My experience with the RC-4 (carrying it around, hooking it up, having to pack it up - all in mostly small stage/spaces - never outweighed the convenience for me). If I was in the habit of using other pedals, I might view it differently.
I'll be interested to hear your impression of the amp.
