I mean I had the ampeg turned up higher to get the same volume as the Tc. Ampeg was at like 3 o clock while the Tc was at like 1.
Which Ampeg?

Consider one of the GK MB series - 200, 500 or 800. All small lightweight and powerful. 200 is tiny, 500 and 800 same size but slightly larger. Hard to beat IMO.
Which Ampeg?
What is the BH250's output at 8ohms? I'm guessing something in range of 150-180W. If they rated it honestly, ?
they dont rate it honestly.. it is not an amp with 250W of output..it contains a 250W power module...
by comparison, the TC RH450 has a 450W module, and was measured at 133W into 8 ohm.. ( Link Removed ) so you can extrapolate from that.. suggesting about 75W into 8 ohm.
Note that amps on the TC website carry a huge disclaimer of fuddle-de-gook explaining the decision of TC to spec their amps different to everyone else...
That link is for the rh 450 not the bg 250.
Making a statement that it only produces 75 watts is wildly presumptuous.
It's like me saying that Ampeg svt cl has reliability problems because the pro 7 and pf series does, when is fact the cl doesn't have widespread problems at all.
Just because one line in a company may have one trait it doesn't mean they all do
Just pointing out that you have no proof and you are merely guessing, basing your info from a different line of amps. The RH series.I suggest you learn to read a post correctly before flaming a poster..
In direct contradiction to your accusation, I made no statement that it did only produce 75W into 8 ohm, I simply stated that if you (reasonably) extrapolated the correlation of power module rating to measured output rating from within the TC amp range, it would suggest an output of 75W is indicated for the BH250.
You are welcome to drink the TC power rating Koolaid, but i fail to see how misdirection and misleading specs actually help the consumer....
How much headroom you need? Going from 250W to 500W is only about 3 dB louder.I want to know why the BH500 doesn't have the Toneprint function. I'd have one in a heartbeat if it did.
The 250 looks wicked but I simply have no use for a 250w Class D amp. I've heard they're mighty loud but I can guarantee I need more than 250w of headroom.
TC Electronic representative confuted supposed 75W rating on basschat: Invalid Link Removed Apparently, they put a honest 250W module in it.
That said, can anybody help me? How does BH250 compare to Little Mark II/III in terms of output?
