TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread (Part II)

Yes! I've read the whole original thread and I'm serious considering grabbing (2) RS 210s. Primarily based on eublet's responses over the last few pages. Plus...they're cheaper.

I've gotten so excited from reading the thread that I just pulled the trigger on an RS210. Should be to me sometime next week. I'll report on it when I get it in...I'll be using a Hartke LH1000 with it. If I like what I hear then I'll be adding another RS210 to the rig.

My RS112 has shipped and I will have it next week. I am hoping that this will be the perfect rehearsal cab!
I'm having a very manic day and I decided to jump on another RS210! I'll now have the pair and I'm stoked!
Just Placed my order with DB for two Rs 210's. Can't wait! I'll give a shout out once I receive em. I sofar love the RH 450 head. Having those presets totally changes the way you think about your amp and basses. If the RS 210's are as good as the RH 450, it should be pretty killer.
You bet! I am hoping that I can take just one of the cabs to the majority of my jazzy type stuff, and then take both for rock applications unless one suits for there as well!
Forgive me for chiming in with a question sooooo deep into this thing... I've read most of this thread, probably not all, and at this juncture I'm interested in the cabs as they *appear* to fall into that magic spot where price / size+weight / hopefully tone meet and make me happy.
So here's my background: I do a lot of in-town gigging in an classic-rock/pop influenced indie-rock band. The next big step is touring, but we've got 6 members... we're going to SXSW and have a lot more tour plans for next year, so we're all looking at ways to condense gear, save space, hopefully without sacrificing much. I currently play through a gorgeous custom tweeterless sealed 610, that has a great vintage SVT type of vibe, but weighs 120 lbs and takes up my whole backseat. Basically I'm exploring smaller options.
I'm mainly looking at stuff like lightweight 410's, but i'm intrigued by the possibility of getting 2 of these RS210's. The flexibility of a modular rig would be cool for playing on the radio and other low volume situations, plus the vertical stack sounds rad. But I also wonder if my tonal needs would be better met with the RS212... I'm a Rick-with-a-pick kinda guy, and I favor a grindy sorta classic rock Rick sound, with occasional OD and fuzz. Definition is important for my tone, but cabs with an overly modern voicing can sound clanky, thin, and sterile real quick with my playing style. Can you guys give me any recommendations concerning the RS210's and RS212's?

I've gone from a LMII and 2 x NM-410's to my 450 and a single 210 and am cutting through like you wouldn't believe.
I now leave my RS212 at home, but I promise to try the 212 alone next week.

Are you saying that you went from a 8x10 essentially, to the 210 and are still cutting through and happy with the tone? That is ridiculous!
I can't wait to join your ridiculous ranks when my 2 210's show up next week.
120 lbs. Whew! What a monster. Bet it sounds amazing though! Please give a little more input about what kind of amp you are playing through, so the advice can be more cogent. I went through a similar decision process though. I used to have A Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 4x10 which weighed in at 96 lbs. It sounded like a beast but it was so huge it didn't fit into anything. I decided to go modular a few years ago, and never looked back. I don't think you will like most lightweight 4x10s, I know I can't stand Neodymium speakers. They are very modern, very hi-fi and almost always have tweeters. I also don't think any 210 stack will sound like your sealed 610. The TC Electronic cabs are ported, and do have tweeters. They are reported to be warmer than the average 210 but you would have to try them to know.
I personally will never have a 410, 610, or 810 again, unless I have lots of roadies!
You really gotta find a way to try the different combinations. But my guess is that 2 x 210 is gonna be fine once you dial in your RH450 sound.

Obviousely my 810 setup was awesome, and I love the 212, 210 TC rig, but seriously dig that I can get "MY" tone with the RH450 and still cut through(at rehearsal) with just the 210.
Once I dialled my 3 x presets on the 450, it's simply a set and forget head. I set up my baby rig and start playing - nice.
The cab is just un-describable. I have no words apart from WOW!
And to think I was within a nat's whisker of getting another 210 for an awesome 3 x cab rig - just cause I can.
Not now. I'll spend my money on necessary things - like Chrissy prezzies for the Grandkids - or maybe another Bass
