Just watched the videos...

I guess I was expecting something really grand, all it is is an amp with a few more bells and whistles than the next amp. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a cool little head, and I like that the cabs sit vertically, it's just not revolutionary like the ipod was...lol.

You're right. The form factor is cool, and if workable, I could ditch my tuner and compressor, but if the price is true to TC Electronics form, The head would most likely be in the $1,500 range and the cabs would probably be at least another $1,500 for two.

Not fiscally feasible at this juncture.

yeah i think most of us would have been more "wow'd" if they came out with a dummy cab that was really an ice chest so we don't have to pay for expensive drinks at the clubs.

i'd pay a lot for that. :D

i'm serious!! i know we need one at our gig.. we play an overpriced martini club, none of us can afford the drinks there. we have talked about it it, but we're trying to come up with a solution. LOL :D

Drinks on stage aside, this looks to be a well thought out bass head. R&D time well spent, just hope it competes tone wise. Companies seem to forget, even if the amp has every feature you will need, most bass players will still hover towards the tone monger even if it only does that one thing right.

Look's cool, and the tube tone thingy is interesting, but it's probably going to cost as much as a tube amp anyways.



Oh, and NJL, I once saw a band with a big cooler size box that looked exactly like a roadcase. Official markings, fragile, this side up, looked exactly like a equipment box. Except when they opened a little door on the top (not the whole thing) and pulled beer out.

Love what I'm seeing and hearing from it... only problem for me is that it doesn't support 2ohm, just as the LMII, Shuttle and others don't support 2ohm.

Yet there's one shot in thier video showing 3 cabinets stacked which would put them under their 4ohm limit. :-O

If they are anything NEAR what tc electronics line of studio monitors, Dynaudio, are like, these things ARE going to be revolutionary, trust me.

Dynaudio speakers sound absolutely amazing, some of the best monitors in the world. And all of tc's other stuff is cutting edge innovative, so this amp may just turn out to be absolutely marvelous. I'm just hoping that the mega-evil Gibson corp. kept their stupid and greedy *** little noses out of the design and production of this one and let them be. tc has produced some truly great things over the years, and this MAY just be one of them. Lets hope.

Bring a flask with some Bourbon in it and order Cokes all night, that'll save ya ;)

I think the head and cabs look pretty cool, but I too am a little nervous about the price. Plus, 450w at 8 lbs, doesn't beat my LM II which is 500w at 6 lbs. Splitting hairs I know, but carrying all this crap on a subway every pound counts.

Also, was kind of hoping it would drive a 2 ohm load, but doesn't look like it from the back. Ah well.

It looks to me like it would be more of what Gibson's "robo-guitar" did for guitars rather than what the i-pod did for music. pretty much nothing. lots of flashing lights and things that i'll forget are on the amp after about 20 mins. like the ability to switch the center freq. of the tone pots. didn't have that on any amp before and i got by. hell, the most popular amps actually have the fewest tone controls. my guess is that i will just end up as a toy for people with too much money, and I sadly don't fall into that category...
