Not so much IMO. Most had never heard of Markbass in the US
But in Europe, had, if the customer was not just uninformed and unaware of smaller specialist brands.
Markbass was at the point where their best move to go west was to get into a super-chain. That's an approach that fit. That's PR if ever there was.
Well said, Ken. Very well said, actually.... Unfortunately, over hyped PR intro's can actually raise the bar so high that otherwise decent products are found to be disappointing....
Talk Bass Opinion Leader??????????
Where does that come from?

"Miomi" on the first page is a female, I think.

Talk Bass Opinion Leader??????????

Apparently not. I think John and Andy should put that in their sigs so we don't forget.Just when you thought the negative vibe would die down and TC would recover, the enlightened at TC has chosen a description that is sure to alienate others at TB. Opinion leader? Other opinions have no value?
FYI, as a marketing major I can tell you that "Opinion Leader" is a VERY standardized term, not a derogatory choice of words, that even has its own entry in Wikipedia.Just when you thought the negative vibe would die down and TC would recover, the enlightened at TC has chosen a description that is sure to alienate others at TB. I read that Wiki page, and again, no offense to those who got chosen, but if anyone ever referred to me as an "opinion leader" as defined by that page, I'd be mortified. Not only did TC offend many people on here by telling them they weren't good enough to get an amp, but now they're going to tell us that the ones who got chosen from here are our opinion leaders? Who elected them? Because they're getting a free amp, all of a sudden their opinions count more than the rest of us?FYI, as a marketing major I can tell you that "Opinion Leader" is a VERY standardized term, not a derogatory choice of words, that even has its own entry in Wikipedia.
No one should be insulted by this, unless they are looking for a reason to have their feelings hurt.
