TC RH450 Club

Just got TC RS210,and had a question about RH250 amp. Mostly plan on using at home, for practicing. Found a used one thinking about getting. I have a GK BP250 I am using to power the RS210,was wanting to match the amp, with the cab. Any advice,or comments? Thanks!

I know sometimes we just want to buy things because we just do...I'm guilty at times

My comments would be that there is nothing magical about matching the amp with the cabinet (with the various heads I tried over time, I felt Ampegs were the best pairings with the RS cabinets). If you have a working GK head, particularly for home use only, I wouldn't see much practicality to getting another head.

Thank you, drpepper, for helping me realize the impulsiveness I have at times. I will adhere to your advice. Definitely nothing wrong with GK amp,and it sounds, great and light weight. Take Care!

RH250? o_O
Do you mean BH250 or are you talking about the RH450 or 750? Either way they would sound great, but so would the GK.

After trying to abide,by drpepper's advice,I couldn't resist such a great deal,on the BH250 when doing some trolling on Amazon. With my obsession of wanting my amp,and cabs matching I have the cab,and amp matched now. My OCD,gets the best of me at times! BH250 amp, with RS210 cab.View attachment 3555339
Nice rig. I used to run a BH250 also with 2 RS210's and it was a very nice rig. Only reason I no longer have the BH250 is because I got the BH800 and the 250 was no longer being used. Congrats.

I love my BH250. It lives in my practice space with a Carvin Neo 10.2 (a 4 ohm 210 cab). I keep Spectracomp in the Toneprint. It's a great rig.

On to RH450 news - when I first posted in this thread a few weeks ago, I hadn't messed with any of the presets or adjustable parameters. I'm still not using presets, as I just don't usually change amp settings during a set, but I did go into shift mode and tweak the EQ centers, Tubetone, and Spectracomp. I really like what I'm able to dial in that way. Still Loving this amp!

Curious about Spectracomp in the Toneprint? I have the app on my phone, and been experimenting with it some.

I really like that compressor, so I keep the basic version loaded on the BH250. For a while I swapped between that and an octaver, but I just have it on Spectracomp now.
If I can add on as well I would use SpectraComp as my main TonePrint until I tried the SpectraComp n Drive TonePrint on the BH800 at the lowest setting and that got me right into RH territory. I mean really, really close. I would suggest for you all to try it and see what you think.

And if you don't like it, you can always go back to the SpectraComp. That is the beauty of the BH heads in that you can play around with different effects and then you can always go back to what you liked before.

I just got my BH250,and not real familiar with the TonePrint. How do you go back and forth on the settings?

It's just a single dial - dial up for "more" of the effect, dial down for "less".

However, the BH250 actually has two effect slots. To access them both, you have to use the TC switching pedal. Click slot one, load in a Tone Print and it'll go to slot one. Click slot two, load in a Tone Print and it'll go to slot two. Then it remembers the position of the tone print dial you last set on each one, so as you click between them, it pulls back the tone print at the dial setting you had before.

Kind of a neat trick.

When I bought mine,it didn't come with the switch pedal. It was a used one, from Amazon warehouse. I will have to find TC switching pedal. Thanks!

They never came with the pedal - it was always an extra purchase. When the BG250 combos came out, there was a promo where if you mailed in your serial number and purchase receipt, TC would mail you back a free pedal. That's how I got mine.

Here is a video that will help explain how to beam TonePrints onto your amp.

I figured the TonePrint out and downloaded the app, onto my phone. I did couple on to the amp,but don't have the pedal to go to the different settings. Probably reason got a good deal on the BH250,no switch pedal? I guess I can get by without one?

The pedal you need is the tc "switch 3". They're kind of pricey but are built like a tank. IIRC I got mine off eBay from ProAudioStar when they had some on sale.

I think,I might have found a TC switch 3,in music store been talking to about doing a trade, with them on some items I have, and he is willing to trade with me. Hopefully we can get together with everything. We will see. If I trade, for the TC switch 3,there is a BH250 included in the trade. So in order to get the TC switch 3,I am going to end up with two BH250's. Probably end up letting one of them go for a great deal to someone?
