TC RH750 part II

And what about a RS212 paired with the OB110?

Personally, I can't see myself doing that.

I think a lot of this has to do with how we individually look at things.

I currently have two RS212s. For a time, I had two RS210s and had kept one. I sold it not too long ago because I didn't find myself using it for much other than a very cool looking stand for my RH450 for headphone practice.

If I had an OB-110, I'm sure I'd only use it by itself, when/where that was appropriate. If I needed or wanted more, I'd go to an RS212. If I wanted more than one RS212, I'd grab the second RS212.

Absolutely! The RH750 is just even better. :)

To me, that Tweetertone is crucial, it really opens things up to my ear, still it never gets harsh. At least not when paired with RS cabs.

Especially useful in a loud band setting IMO, but of course YMMV. :)

And if you wanted the RS212 power, but you would like a little more of highs? :p

Umm...eq in more highs? ;)

This is part of what I meant about people viewing things differently. If you believe that 10" and 12" inherently have widely different characters, with 10s being focused "higher" and 12s being more deep without a higher freq capability, then you'll view adding a 1x10 cabinet to an RS212 as a way to add that higher character.

In my view, the primary difference between the RS210 and RS212 is capacity for loudness. The simple character of the sound, inside of the margins, isn't completely dissimilar.

I have a similar dilemma.
I currently own a RH750+RS210 and although I like the sound, need a bit more lows or depth. I`m wondering if I should change the RS210 for a RS212 or simply add a RS212.

What do you think?

I own an RH450 and both the RS212 and RS210. By itself, the RS212 kills the RS210. There is so much more presence of bass and it is unbelievable how defined the low end sounds. I never use the RS210 unless it is stacked on top of the RS212 for added power, volume, and punch for gigs. I don't see the RS210 as a necessity, but it is nice to have. Either way, I strongly urge you to get your hands on a 212, then make up your mind if you want to keep the 210 or exchange it. Hope this helps.

I love love love the punch of the RS210....
But it doesn't have the fatness of the RS212...
I agree...add the RS212. But hang on to the RS210 if you can...You might miss that 210 punch. I know I would.

Used it live this last weekend (paired with the RS210 and a Warwick) and simply killed.

Didn`t need to go beyond 10 (Gain) and 9 (Master).
The bass had a growl and punch that was amazing.

However, the sound guy told me he received a ballsy signal, where the lows were "untammable" for him.
Has anyone experienced this ??

The head was set in Pre EQ (maybe that was the problem)

Jarrett do you have a rc4 foot switch you want to sell?
slawie
No, I just had the head and its sold at this point.

The DI out level is completely controlled by the gain knob on the RH750. I always ran pre out as well and had to adjust the gain at gigs to get the soundman the levels he wanted to see, which in turn meant retweaking my sound on stage for the new gain level. But that was a signal strength issue rather than EQ. I'm playing a Carvin SB5000 which sounds great straight to the board via a pre out feed. What bass are you playing? Does it have an active preamp in it? And where do you set the bass control on it? That might factor in.
