TC RH750 part II

Thanks Dave in LB. I've read the same RS210 report a few times on this forum. I think my concern was having a fat low end (ha) which was reported to be better with the 12s than the 10s. Something about the stacked dual RS112s just appeals to me aesthetically though. My problem is trying to stay at least close to a $2k max spend. I'll be a bit over with the RH750 and dual 112s, but hopefully either I can:

a. score a good deal from a registered dealer on this forum or
b. I can sell my other gear (Markbass cmd 201P & Ampeg Micro CL stack)

as I should have my small gig/larger gig needs taken care of with the 750 + dual 112 setup. I should be making a purchase by the end of this month so we'll see how it all pans out. I'll throw up some pics of course when I do cause as I've learned from this forum, no pics = no rig.

I've had my RH750 for 10 days now, and haven't had a chance to fire it up yet! :(
Hopefully tonight. My only cab at present is a 4 ohm Eden D212XLT. Still debating cab options.
Plug the damn thing in
Apart from the RH specific bag offered from TC, what cases/bags are people using for their TC RH heads? I'd like one with removable shoulder strap, as most of the time I'd be slipping it into a larger gear bag. Gator's 12x12 mixer bag is about all I've come up with so far. Any alternatives in use?

An old laptop bag that was lying around from an older smaller laptop. It works great because it has a few pockets which I can use for set lists, charts strings and the odd cable

I use a SHURE microphone bag that has lots of room. Pockets A flip flap top with small pockets for all kinda stuff and usually have room for lots of cables and a large song binder or 2 small ones depending where I'm playing at hitting a rehearsal for one place and playing at another.

It also crossed my mind to get a Pedaltrain JR. Would let me tilt the RH750 head up for controls and tuner visibility as well as secure/store my wireless receiver, etc.
That's a cool idea.
I was thinking of using one of the laptop trays they use for PA use and mount little slide tracks to my cabinet and have it over my pedal board on the top of my cab.

Day 17 of RH750 ownership. Last week I played for 45 minutes or so with the brand new head driving a 1x10" SWR cabinet. A few minutes ago, I walked past where it was sitting, and sure enough... the knob from Tubetone control is sitting on the floor. I'm not entirely surprised, but I really thought they had addressed this by now. :(

Yeah, that is strange. Especially since the early runs didn't have this problem.

Your unit may have spent some time in the store.

That's crazy. I'm currently exploring new amp options and the RH750 is certainly one I'm looking into. Hearing that knobs fall off is unacceptable though, especially at this price level.

The Aguilar Tone Hammer is also in the competition.

TC will send a replacement set for free if you contact them.

That's good to know. I was aware this knob thing was an issue in the past, but thought it had been solved. Maybe mine was older and sitting on the shelf of American Musical Supply warehouse.

I used the RH750 last night for a blues band job with my 4 ohm Eden D212XLT and my US Lakland hollow body. Got a ton of compliments on my sound, and had plenty of volume with the master around 9 o'clock. I'm happy so far.

I suspect the production runs of the amp were completed before they solved the knob issue, so any amp probably has the potential of self-destructing knobs. I got mine directly from the Canadian distributor through industry contacts and still had the problem. In my opinion the amp is worth it even if you do have the minor hassle of the knobs...even if you replace with aftermarket ones for a few bucks.

This summer I played on lots of outside fest gigs with my RH750-RS210/212 setup, master never passed 10 in a rock/blues band, this weekend I am planning to use on a progressive metal gig as the rehearsals sounded great, again the master barely passed 10 even this band much louder than the blues band. BTW:Never had knob issue with my rh750.

I got my RH750 at a time that it couldn't possibly have been stock that was sitting anywhere; ordered 12/2011, delayed, delayed and delayed, and finally delivered 4/2012.

There were reported knob problems before I got mine and after.

Fortunately, I have never had a hint of a problem of any kind, knobs or otherwise, from the RH750 or for the 3 years prior with the RH450.
