If the GK can bypass its own pre it will sound just like a trace head. I've used sm7 pedal into mixer into random old power amp, instant trace.
My GK 700RBII can and that is how I run my Alembic F1-X through it.....hope the GK can too....

I plan on racking it with a GK 800RB and using the GK's effects loop. I run a few different rigs with different preamps running through the effects loops of stand alone heads... it gives me more versatility in my opinion. I have always loved the Trace sound but have never owned one. Looking forward to getting the pre and I hope it will work well through my GK's FX loop?????
Can I join a club please?![]()
(Pssst! Post a pic of your Trace stuff...)
Yeah, you're family, but seeing as it's a practice amp I'm gonna make you dredge up the last member number I gave out and add one.
Search the thread for the last member # I gave out, report back. Then you'll be member # X+1 and I'll give you the official welcome. Normally I'd do it all myself but you only have a practice amp...
I probably should have made him 203.5 and give him a proper number when he gets a rig worthy of taking a photograph of.
I have a 1008C head. It used to be a 8x10 combo. It's been cut off. And I have the head. I like to rebuild it someday... Bought it as non runnin. Now it has been serviced and sounds amazing. It's an early AH250 with a GP11. The paint is grey.
