I plan on racking it with a GK 800RB and using the GK's effects loop. I run a few different rigs with different preamps running through the effects loops of stand alone heads... it gives me more versatility in my opinion. I have always loved the Trace sound but have never owned one. Looking forward to getting the pre and I hope it will work well through my GK's FX loop?????

I Used to have an 800RB and once used a different preamp patched into the effects return. That worked fine.

The effects return disconnects the GK preamp from the power amp section. You would then have a bi-amped Trace rig, since the cross over would still be in the signal chain (unless you switch it to full range. The 800RB always sounded better used in a bi-amp situation. I used to have an 18" and 2x12 cabs.

Search the thread for the last member # I gave out, report back. Then you'll be member # X+1 and I'll give you the official welcome. Normally I'd do it all myself but you only have a practice amp.

Negotiate on the 150W head on trademe, you might get it for $400.

I have a 1008C head. It used to be a 8x10 combo. It's been cut off. And I have the head. I like to rebuild it someday... Bought it as non runnin. Now it has been serviced and sounds amazing. It's an early AH250 with a GP11. The paint is grey.
