I ended up buying it! Should be to me in about 3-5 days so I will post more then when I get it. Cannot wait! Oh and yeah I'll be looking into a set of casters. Who knows if this rig really impresses me it may become my new go to rig and I'll sell my other bigger amp and cab. Thanks to all who offered advice and input!

It's so cool to have Guitar Center used as an online store that'll ship anywhere, regardless of which store has the items available. I've found some great stuff list last year for good deals. The one you bought looks way better than the one I bought locally, btw. Mine is about ten years older and has seen a ton of gigs before I bought it.

The obstacle I'm trying to overcome is finding a good rock/pop sound that has close to the lowend warmth of the scooped preshape but with more mids so it cuts through better for finger stuff. I love it ,as is, for slap but for the other 95% I'm still working on it. The cab is very mid present so I'm learning that cutting some mids gets it flat which is really throwing me off compared to what I'm use to.

I'm going to try a 2-15" cab soon to see if I like it better than the 4-10" but if anyone has some graphic settings to share, it would be much appreciated. I don't have a preshape 2 on mine.

Just snagged an old made in the UK Trace GP11 MkV Preamp.
So looking for suggestions for what's a good power amp to run with it...
It's got a built in crossover which is cool.

EQ with your ears. Check the sound out in the room matches, it won't but it's a good exercise.

For more low warmth, lay off the attack and play closer to the neck.

Trace used to make a pedal with the 2 pre-shapes on it, I think both the Dual-Band Compressor pedal and the GP7 graphic pedal had both pre-shape toggles available. Ebay?...

Or stick a 1-space parametric eq in a little rack and use it through the effects loop. Jus' stinkin'.

Hand trucks are great. The more you load on the better mine handles.

For rock I use shape1, take out speaker wobbling 30 and 40 and season the rest but sparingly. Tube is always full on. The 12 band eq is ducks nuts . The balance control is so convenient for quick changes. Play about with everything in conjunction with technique. So much tone is in the fingers.

Thanks and I'm pretty good about technique but I'll double check next practice. I usually save close to the neck stuff for old school and reggae. I keep it at rehearsal (30 miles away) and only get to fiddle with it at practice. I'll just go in early this week and spend more time.

I plan on racking it with a GK 800RB and using the GK's effects loop. I run a few different rigs with different preamps running through the effects loops of stand alone heads... it gives me more versatility in my opinion. I have always loved the Trace sound but have never owned one. Looking forward to getting the pre and I hope it will work well through my GK's FX loop?????
