Team Trace Elliot pt4.

I've got a question-I've got a Trace V6 that (I hope) blew the

mains fuse (located under the input for the power cord)-

Anyone know the trick for getting the fuse out?

I am unfamiliar with this type-

Also does anyone know what (U.S.) fuse to replace it with?

It should have been shoved part way out by the spring.
Sounds like the spring is broken or collapsed.
I'd use a small pair of needle nose, hemostats, or jewelers pliers to get it out.
It should say what amperage it is next to the fuse holder or look on the fuse itself.
If you open the chassis be very careful.
The V4, V6,and V8 are like some beautiful women - lovely to look at, lovely to hear, touch them in the wrong place and they'll kill you.
Beware- High Voltages inside.

Active and passive cancel each other out - that makes sense too, but these seem to cancel out almost completely

That's what it looks like in the schematic The jacks are pass through unless a plug is present. The plug breaks the pass through path from the other input jack. But, then both signals fight each other for the path to the preamp.

Im going to be keeping my eye out for a 2 15 cab for sure..

Just don't get as bad as me and need to trade/swap/sell every cool thing you get for that other cool thing you need to get...

I've had a long road getting the right stuff because I can't just go splash on it, and got so into the mode of searching, negotiating, etc., that I have to hit the brakes hard to lay off it...

Now I need a project to dig into and remember why I started and kept on playing in the first place. What have I become anyway...

But I'm hopeful.

Yeah i too have traded and should have kept some of the basses and gear i had for sure.. just waiting on the right 2 15 cab to come along.. i am patient until GAS comes on HAHA

I was perfectly happy with my Trace for nearly 20 years. Thanks to TB I got a fit of tube gas, then an attack of micro wantwants, but still do 80% of gigs with old faithful. It's my Goldilocks.

I know it's a common affliction. I also know that when I don't have all this shiny in front of me I'm a whole lot happier! Of course it helps to have some music to play... But boy, since getting re-acquainted with Trace Elliot I don't really care to hear anything else.

I'm staying quiet about it, but I'm still working it out for that combo... :hiding:

:D

I guess you guys would be the best to ask -- I need to replace one of the graphic EQ sliders on my HexaValve -- any idea where to get one?
I looked on Brit Audio Srvc and they have Series 6 and SMX Slide Potentiometers...not sure if either of those would do, or if I could get one elsewhere.
