Thanks for the replys fellas. My main point of reference for the tecamp sound is the puma 1000 i played. it was driving a single 4ohm cab, so I am assuming it was running at 500 watts similar to the puma 500. I was really blown away by the heft, the clarity and the presence of the sound. The tone was perfect for me, and the amp pushed a ton of air. I'm hoping the 500 is very close to the same sound and muscular output. If I go this route I could see trying one of their 610 cabs in the future as well.
I'm also curious, how easy or difficult is it to get service on these amps in the US? I could see that being a potentisl issue down the road.
I understand the Puma500 sounds a bit fatter and warmer than the 1000, but that's on second hand information. The power output should be the same.
I'm pretty comfortable that if you have a problem within the warranty time, Osiamo would make sure you get another replacement amp and/or cab. After warranty, I would assume it would be similar to Glock or Epifani amps or whatever... back across the pond for service. Just guessing, but if service and support after the warranty is a key consideration, these brands might not be optimum. I have enough amps and cabs that this is never and issue for me, and other than a few amps from a variety of companies being 'dead out of the box' (which happens sometime), I have not had an amp failure since the 'bad old GK days' of the 80's.
