Tech 21 at NAMM

Well, in a situation like this, with the VT Deluxe, it allows you to utilize both inputs, as well as allowing you to assign the effects in the loop to specific presets.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize you could toggle the effects loop on and off (just re-read a couple posts back and noticed that I missed that in your initial post). Since I would be running three pedals in the loop and they would never all be on at the same time, the ability to toggle like that would be no benefit to me, but it's definitely a neat idea.

It sounds like I need the "Bass-VT Deluxe Pro" :smug: That'd be the Bass-VT Deluxe with the addition of a pre/post switch for the DI a series/parallel switch for the effects loop and most importantly a robotic arm that could make me drinks and small sandwiches for those between set munchies :p

here to help, smoovy!

you know, i was going to try to get rid of my microbass with this, but it looks like i may not be able to. i may be able to use something else instead, but i got a little dependent on the tuner out/mute in the microbass. that was ok when i was using it to switch electric/upright, but i'll be using this when i get it. so time for a plan b.

won't miss the bypass, though. if i liked the bypassed di signal, i wouldn't be buying one of these in the first place ;) but i wonder if that mike guy can mod these like the regular vt...

but i'll be using this when i get it. so time for a plan b.

My current plan is:

Bass 1 -> Bass-VT Deluxe input A ->
Bass 2 -> Bass-VT Deluxe input B -> Power Amp -> Cab
Effects Send -> Tuner -> Effects -> Return

Hopefully that allows for silent tuning and the ability to leave both basses plugged in and easily be able to switch between basses and have them gain matched and balanced tonally.

I'll still end up keeping a Radial JDI on my pedalboard in case the FOH engineer really needs a pre EQ signal to the board. Putting that in the chain will keep me from being able to have the quick switch-out for basses, but as I've said previously, it won't be the end of the world.

ya, good plan. my amps are all vintage except my lmii, but it only has a tuner out and no mute so it wouldn't work for me. i really don;t want to buy a pedal tuner, though. i like my $20 korg ca-30 just fine. i'll figure it out though...at least i won't need a bypassed signal so i have that going for me. not going to give soundmen that choice, that's for sure!

Send your request to Mike Putnam - from what everybody's said about him, he should be able to do it!

OK, Lloyd Schwartz gave me the OK to post the pic he sent me...so here goes:
