Tech 21 bass fly rig

The open box I bought from Sweetwater didn't include the power supply but I do have this stashed away in my parts bin at home http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/dunlop-ecb-003-ac-adapter.

It's 9V DC @ 200mA 5% regulated. 2.1mm x 5.5mm + Barrel negative center. It seems like this should match up ok with the Fly Rig. It should be ok right?

I fried my first one with a different power supply. But pretty sure the ground was reversed. So as long as that matches, should be fine.

That being said, Tech21 isn't gouging for theirs, so may not be worth the risk.

I got about a half hour in to the unit last night and it’s so cool. The chorus is similar to my neo clone and the envelope filter is simple and tweakable to what I use it for. I like how the drive on the VT circuit has been dialed down a little bit without taking away from how good the circuit sounds. Boost works great when I want to beef up the drive. Tuner is convenient. Man, I love this thing so far. It’s nice to not have a big pedalboard in front of me. Super portable.

I've read through a lot of negative reviews here on this unit but they seem to only be centered around the Compressor and Octafilter but I guess it all depends on how much you regularly use Compression, Octave, Fuzz or Envelope. Obviously there are better stand alone options out there but for the casual user like myself, this pedal is nothing short of a dream. They are definitely usable with some tweaking.

Anyone can recommend a battery operated headphone amp to mix the output (headphones or line level) with an auxiliary input? Something like the amPlug without any processing will be perfect (1/4" jack so no cable). Strictly for mobile use as I have other solution for home.

Suggestions on where I should put this in my pedal chain? With my current setup I would assume bass > G50 wireless relay > korg pitch black tuner > Noise gate > Then I like to use this AS WELL AS an B7K Ultra. Should This go before or after the ultra?

It's preference really. I guess it all depends on what you're looking to use the Fly Rig and Ultra for.

I always have the comp on but use boost, octave, and sansamp for extra grit and distortion. I plan on using the B7K Ultra as my main distortion and pre-amp (still waiting for it to arrive) and trying to figure out which order to put them and how to utilize the Sansamp at this point. My amp already has a great gain and overdrive circuit on it so it seems like I have options to plug and play with the tone.

I would experiment and see what sounds good to you. Can’t go wrong either way IMO. BTW, why keep the Korg tuner when you could use the one on the fly rig?

I played around with the gated Fuzz on this unit last night and I love it. Can go from a light creamy style distortion to a full on nuclear bomb. The compressor matched up with it can smooth it out as well. I was using the OctaFilter section mostly for just an envelope but I have a Geezer Butler WAH coming in to take care of that aspect.

I picked one up in February. I love it. However, I'm a unique circumstance. My band has sound engineer and we have zero stage volume (minus the drums).
What sold it for me was the size, functionality as a headphone amplifier, DI and Comp.

Quality build, quality metal case and it first perfectly in my case.

Great question! Other than the fact that I like the accuracy and speed of the pitch black more than the fly rigs one, I also play in a metal band with my five string bass tuned down to A#. Haven't found another tuner able to register that low of a note and I don't like tuning off of the 12th fret
