Nice rig! I really wish the VT Bass 500 was still in production (I understand why it’s not) and kinda mad at myself for not snagging one when I had the chance.
Hey there. Ive tried the RBI many times. Its a great pre but imo and experience, they do not sound the same as a bddi. I read on a previous post from tech 21 confirming what I always thought. "Based on".go with the v2, I have several as well as v1sSo I’m a long time user of a v1 BDDI, and I love it.
I also have a v1 VT Deluxe and a v1 Flyrig.
I have the opportunity to get an RBI for a decent price.
I don’t really use rack gear but I was thinking that a mid control with the original Sansamp tone might be nice to have.
Is this just GAS?
Would it be better just to get a newer model BDDI?
I feel like I already have some of this covered with the flyrig and the VT deluxe but inquiring minds want to know.
what led you to the conclusion to set the rumblefilter on the paradriver v2 that high? according to my measurements (and also listening perception before) it starts at least as high as 200hz and rolls of quite steep.
If I was doing it again (I have a v2 BDDI), I'd get the Dug Pinnick version with the compressor included.Would it be better just to get a newer model BDDI?

this is the curve i got comparing blend 100% and everything else noon, no bite or cabsim, to the direct signal (not the bypass sound i have to say).I'd like to know where the HPF is set on the VTDI as well. It seems terribly high. It's way thinner sounding than plugging directly into my board with the HPF set to 60hz.
Oops. I meant that this filter is a main difference. When I turned unit on I thought that there’s too much low end and engaged rumble filter, did low boost and then thought that’s like a Bass Driver but I should try something different, so I’ve turned it off and I have massive low end.the rumble filter actually cuts a lot of lows when engaged (pressed in). is it possible that you mixed that up?

thank you. So in all terms if you need tweaking Para Driver is a winner, right? I can’t wait for a new Elite bass driver but it seems that I could stop with Para Driver.when you don't need the mid knob otherwise, you could set it all the way up to 3khz and by boosting to taste use it as a kind of presence control in this way. especially when "air" is engaged you might not need the mid knob to compensate the midscoop (that's at least what i used the mid knob for most of the time in the para driver...)
