Tech 21 pedals - if you could have only one?

Here you go - I decided to go put both Tech 21 pedals on the larger of the two boards and keep the budget mini board (not shown here) which will be the first one I'll be taking out on the road, stripped right down. Both are centred on a multifx.

Signal chain: Smoothhound-->Boss SY1 with Red Ripper in its parallel loop--> HX Effects-->SA Manta-->VT DI

Should be enough fun/noises under the bonnet to keep me out of mischief for a while!

Personally, I would pick the Leeds.
I love it on both bass and guitar.

When my VTBass was on the fritz I did a video shootout between the Leeds and Oxford. Its a shame I couldn't get the VTBass involved.

Yeah it sounds like a good pedal but the PSA 2 does a bit too much for me, as I like simple pedals that give me the tone that I want. But if you are into fiddling then it looks like the PSA 2 is the pedal for you, but regardless of that all of the Tech 21 pedals I own are top notch and the others that I have tried are great too.

Put the VT Bass DI briefly through its paces this afternoon. Really liking it already. Couldn't help but think that it should totally be able to warm up my DG Amp (and pretty much any other D class head for that matter) with a bit 'valvey grit' particularly when played with a pick.

Haha - know what you mean. I've limited my deep menu diving to my two multi-fx and pretty much most of my other pedals are dial on the fly!

I've always been meaning to pick up a Leeds and thanks to this thread I now have one inbound from eBay!

Although I might have to leave the package in quarantine for a week or so before I open it!

If you fancy a bit of The Ox from Live At Leeds or the Tommy era, here are the settings I use for the Leeds pedal.
Level - 8.00
Mid - 2.45
Character - 1.30
Drive - 1.00
Low - 2.45 or 1.00 if using a pick.
High - 2.45

What's your goto / default setting on your VT Bass DI?

A quick posted pic of your fav setting would be great and I'm sure we can all get something out of trying each other's recommendations on that front, particularly if any of you folk are currently on lock down like we Brits are!

I've gone back to the Bass Fly-Rig as it best suits my needs in an ensemble setting... it is essentially a VT w/ added bells & whistles.

Love to be able to respond in detail, but work-from-home pace is frantic for me - internal company communications is my game: lucky I'm working but the demand is ceaseless.

What I can say is that after 30 mins messing about last night on mine, the Low and Drive settings I've got are the same as yours (but that's about it!)...which I guess means I've made a good start

Where I'd like to get to pretty quickly is that delicious slightly gritty valve tone for warming up my clean Darkglass AO900 amp. That would be a really neat setting to have up my sleeve.

This thing can get really quite dirty, but it's definitely much more of a drive dirt than the fuzz of the Red Ripper. It's actually reminding me quite a bit of my Creation Audio Grizzly Bass.

If you want warmer suggest you tip the character knob more CCW than my pictured setting.
