Also need to take into consideration you actually need 2 VT Bass pedals to match this head as well.

The head is made in the U.S. and has an MSRP set at $2,495, though Tech 21 says the “street price will be around $1,900.” As with all products in the Private Stock line, the VT 1000 is available only through custom order, with shipments of the VT 1000 expected to begin within a few months. If this is true then that's a deal breaker for me. Waaay to expensive. If I'm going to shell out that much scratch I'm getting the real deal and buying an Ampeg.

It really is, even talking new, a 1500 watt power amp is $350 and [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is $270. Add in a 15% off coupon and you are looking at $530 ish....

Even if you want all rack mount both the RPM and the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] are $330. So both of them and a power amp comes in under $900, half of the head. If I could get that head sub $800 or so I would be all over it. As is, you have more options for less money that are basically the same product.

Yeah, I always thought they should make a class D amp out of the VT Bass. But in the same price range as the GK's and Markbass gear. That's just ridiculous if you ask me! I am a fan of the Tech21 gear so I am putting together a rig based around the VT Deluxe with a power amp. It will be much cheaper than that! IMHO----i don't think it is worth the cost for the average player. It's kind of a shame.

i've always liked their products alot (and their customer service is excellent) , but with a retail for $2495/$1900 street, i honestly don't think that they'll be selling many of them. especially when you can get their VT deluxe ($269) and a 1K watt crown XLS1000 ($299) for 1/3rd of that. $568 vs $1900?

The price of this head is a bad joke. An 8 lb Crown poweramp in this power range costs 299 RETAIL, and their pedal under 300. They listened as far as power goes, and flipped the bird at the market by pricing their nickel sound as if it were a platinum alloy noone else can match. Pathetic fail, in spades, to the power of ten.

I doubt they'll sell ANY of these custom heads. Oh well.

They DID listen to what the customers were saying for more wattage (not me, 300 watts is fine ). . . but I agree w/ the $$ WAY off. I'm amazed at how totally on some of their products are, and how way off some are . . .
